This experience, in a nutshell

Don't you want to say goodbye to summer and still want a holiday?
Spend a weekend of relaxation and fun as you discover the Pontine Islands in a flotilla of multiple sailing boats.
Sail in the pristine sea, meet new people, party and dive into the most beautiful bays of Ponza and Palmarola: Cala Brigantina or Lucia Rosa's Faraglioni.

On Saturday we will sail towards Ponza to moor in the port for the night, so we can have an aperitif on the beautiful terrace of the Ki Bar in Chiaia di Luna to admire the suggestive sunset over Palmarola with its breathtaking view. We can then continue the evening between one club and another having the convenience of being independent to return to your boat moored in the port. On Sunday the skipper will leave early to make you wake up in the beautiful Cala Francese di Palmarola, where we can immerse ourselves in its splendid crystal clear water and whoever wants to can explore the practically uninhabited island. We will leave for Neptune around 2:00 pm to disembark by 6:00 pm.

Do you like the idea? Get on board and spend a fun weekend on a sailing boat with us!

Friday
Boarding from 5 pm at the Nettuno marina. After getting to know each other and arranging the galley (shopping) and luggage on board, if the crew arrives by 20:00, we will leave for an enchanting night sailing under the stars. Alternatively we will sleep in Nettuno and the skipper will set sail at dawn. After 5 hours of navigation we will anchor in one of the beautiful bays of Palmarola, where we will sleep or wake up in the absolute peace that this fascinating practically uninhabited island can offer us.

Saturday
We will wake up calmly and we will be able to take the first bath in the beautiful blue and crystalline sea even before breakfast. Once the boat has been arranged, we will set sail and sail - learning those who wish to carry out the various maneuvers on a sailing boat - towards one of the beautiful bays of Ponza, where you can relax, snorkel and even excursions with the tender. Before or after lunch we will definitely go to another of the beautiful beaches of the island, and then head to the port of Ponza where we will spend the night. Going ashore, we will have the opportunity to go for an aperitif at the Ki Bar, a very trendy and characteristic place where you can admire the sunset over Palmarola.

Sunday
We will head back to Palmarola to go for an excursion with the tender to the fantastic Faraglioni di Mezzogiorno, to Cala Francese or to the Cathedrals and finally we will leave for Nettuno, immediately after lunch between 13 and 14.

Disembarkation is scheduled in Nettuno by 6pm.

I summarize: Very beautiful places, the organization and the mood reflect the festive description of the holiday. Too bad we made only one package with all the boats, but there are several moments to socialize. EXPENSES: very bad, no transparency on what was paid, only the shopping receipt was presented at the beginning for the rest everything on trust: moorings, taxi boats, dinners / aperitifs. SKIPPER AND CO SKIPPER: I felt good socializing with them, but one above all showed little desire to do and almost became a vacationer (to the avail). BARCA: bad, the bluetooth to connect the mobile phones did not work. The fridge was intermittent and we couldn't use the tender for 2-3 days as it had a damaged engine. In addition, too many people for the size of the boat: there were 13 of us in total. The cabins with the bunk bed and the sailor's cabin are niches. I recommend taking the sup, indeed 2 sup for each boat would be the top.

Refrigerators not working, music speakers missing. Little organization of dinners on land and parties among the flotilla. However, very good and nice skippers, highly recommended.

The Aeolian Islands are beautiful destinations that are absolutely worth the trip, however I will be too demanding, but unfortunately my experience with this flotilla did not meet the expectations of a group holiday. Socialization and flotilla spirit From a flotilla holiday you expect frequent opportunities to socialize with the other crews, but the package line-up with all the boats was only done once, on the last evening of 7 days of sailing. This greatly limited the possibilities to get to know and interact with the other boats during the week. Boat not up to the price Our catamaran, for what it cost compared to the other boats in the flotilla, did not meet expectations. We expected something much more refined both in terms of space and modernity, instead it had small cabins and tiny bathrooms. In addition, the sailor's cabins were also rented, so skipper and coskipper slept on the loveseat in the kitchen area. This led to two problems: they did not rest properly and we felt limited in activities when they were resting in the common area. Composition of the crews The organization of the boats appeared inconsistent. On our boat we were a heterogeneous group: 5 men under between 30 and 37 years old, a couple, 2 women aged 44 and one aged 30, plus skipper and co-skipper (both men). Fortunately we got along very well with each other but it was certainly not a balanced and sensible composition. Cost transparency Little transparency in managing extra costs. We were notified of an increase in expenditure only the day before departure, without the possibility of prior evaluation. Onboard services We practically had to manage the galley on the boat ourselves and do chores such as throwing out the garbage or cleaning the dishes, activities that are expected to be supported by the organization. Transfers and moorings The boat had tenders to disembark us when we arrived on an island, but they regularly made us take taxi boats, having to pay quite unreasonable amounts for the distance from the boat to the pier. The same situation for moorings at the buoy, with costs that are not always clear. Fuel and consumption Fuel management has been opaque. Initially it was calculated on the basis of the hours of navigation and not on the actual consumption, when it is evident that the consumption varies according to the navigation speed. Also, when we did the package with the other boats, the engine of our catamaran stayed on the whole time because it had to provide power to the music speakers mounted on our boat. This resulted in extra fuel consumption that only we on the boat paid for, despite it being a group activity. In short, beautiful destinations, but general organization not well cared for, boat not up to the price paid, little transparency on costs and services not up to expectations for a flotilla holiday.
