This experience, in a nutshell

Sifnos is one of the least known and most beautiful Cyclades. I recommend arriving a few days earlier, by ferry from Athens because there is no airport (fortunately for him), and discovering its villages and trails.

On Saturday afternoon, after settling on board, getting to know each other (already in the crew there are two sailors and a fraternal friend of mine, also a great sailor) and a detailed briefing, we will all have the galley together to learn what and how much to put on board for the week.

The next day, according to the most favorable weather, we will set sail for this week of real navigation. It can be a great sail for a direct crossing of 8-10 hours to the coasts of the Peloponnese, or shorter to Serifos, the first island further north. A bit like in the ocean. Then there are other miles and other crossings, with possible stops in Hydra, Poros, Aeghina up to the north coast of the Saronic Gulf, between Corinth and Athens, where they await us on Friday morning at the Almira shipyard to haul the boat ashore for the end of the season. You will all help me fix the boat for the winter, a job of a few hours.

There will then be the possibility to sleep on the boat one last night and then leave on Saturday morning by train to Athens or to your final destination.

The route will be decided based on the weather and the shelter offered by the coasts on our bow. We will also try to relax and swim in the typical atmosphere of the Greek islands, but the priority will be the safety of navigation and the time available. We have about 150 miles to sail with a good chance that they will be at least partly difficult and against the wind.

We will share spaces in friendship, we will take turns and maneuvers and we will cook together, helping and collaborating all according to their inclinations and abilities. A real cruise for skippers in training, sharing roles and jobs.

N.B. Single occupancy in a double cabin with private bathroom is subject to a 50% surcharge.

Our itinerary

The proposed itinerary, through the western Aegean and the Saronic islands between Athens and Poros, offers some of the most interesting naturalistic and archaeological destinations, all well known to the skipper. We will sail carefully and concentrated, stopping according to the weather conditions but also the preferences of the group. Trolling is possible, but a volunteer will have to be in charge of it, we will eat genuine food, we will be in good company and friendship, as a real crew.

The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions and/or technical or logistical reasons, in order to ensure safety and a pleasant sailing experience for all participants.

Our first tour. We therefore have no comparison options yet and give a benevolent 4 stars. I would have liked better communication, more involvement and more sailing.

Great week! The group was international and very friendly. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Fulvio takes great care of his boat, which is one of the most beautiful and authentic on which we have sailed. He made us discover lots of coves for swimming and small typical ports for walks

A wonderful experience that I am recommending to many friends. Fulvio is very prepared and patient, he taught us to live properly on a boat, to use the limited and precious resources on board well, taking us safely from Calabria to Greece. We saw dolphins, turtles, caught a tuna and treasured many beautiful memories. Thanks also to Salvo, his very nice helper who prepared a lot of meals for us by a chef!
