This experience, in a nutshell

Leave with us for a special adventure aboard our sailboat, equipped with 4 cabins and 4 bathrooms and driven by a crew who loves the sea, sailing and the authentic flavors of Sicily. From the port of Capo D'Orlando we will set sail for the Aeolian Islands, ready to reveal their magic away from the usual itineraries.

On our boat, in addition to taking care of the sailing maneuvers, I (Emiliano - 51 years old) and my partner (Nila - 39 years old) will take care of you by preparing authentic Sicilian dishes for 4 meals, using the ingredients of the galley. If you like to cook, you can join us and discover some secrets of the island's cuisine!

Start your holiday

We meet in the port on Saturday around 15:00 to make a galley together. After settling into your cabin, in the evening, once we arrive at the islands, we toast with an aperitif on the boat offered by us to break the ice and start off on the right foot!

Navigate without haste

Each day will be a small journey guided by the sea, with each island giving us unforgettable moments. Our itinerary is flexible, leaving room for the unpredictability of wind and nature. On Friday afternoon we will head to Capo D'Orlando for one last evening together, with disembarkation scheduled for the following morning, by 9:00 am.

Ready to be carried away by the slow pace of the islands, to experience each day as a discovery and to be enchanted by the charm of the Aeolian Islands?  Your adventure starts here! Check out the day-by-day itinerary to see what's in store for you and jump on board!

Leg 1

Saturday - Meeting

We will meet at Marina di Capo D'Orlando around 3.00 pm. Here we will warmly welcome you to our houseboat, which will become your refuge for the next few days! Together we will do the shopping for the period to come; The list for the galley has already been prepared before departure, now it's time to go and buy and bring everything on board! We are already in vacation mode! Our goal is to be able to leave the port as soon as possible! What follows is not a day by day itinerary, but an idea of what you can see and do on each island. It will be the wind and the sea, and our common desires that will decide which island will be our first stop!

Leg 2

Panarea, between chic boutiques and underwater geysers

Exploring Panarea both from the sea and from the land will be an unforgettable adventure! Despite the lack of a marina, the island offers numerous breathtaking buoys and anchorages. Together we will explore the wonders of the island, including the shallow and sandy seabed of Baia Milazzese, Cala Zimmari and Cala Junco, the underwater geysers between Lisca Nera and Lisca Bianca and Basiluzzo, the evocative Cathedral of the Sea! On land, the picturesque village of San Pietro awaits us, with its luxurious boutiques and unique experiences in the renowned Aeolian nightlife venues. We will not fail to delight ourselves with the best cocktails at the Bridge and the famous Raya. But also a simple granita on the small terrace overlooking Dattilo, near the San Pietro dock, will allow us to fully savor the easy chic atmosphere of this island.

Leg 3

Stromboli and Sciara del Fuoco

Let's take advantage of the wind to head for Stromboli! Unparalleled experiences await us! The island is in fact one of the most active volcanoes in the world and there are many ways to enjoy this magnificent spectacle once night falls: with a guided trek to observe the Sciara del Fuoco up close, with a ‘Vulcan-lit’ pizza at the Observatory, or by taking a fast rubber dinghy for a one-and-a-half-hour tour in front of the Sciara! We prepare to experience the magical moments that this island reserves for its visitors, amidst fountains of fire and a never-before-seen starry sky. During the day we will relax in the waters of Ficogrande, with its black sand beaches, or with a dip in the deep waters of Strombolicchio. The picturesque village of San Vincenzo, where we can stop at the buoy, and the famous Bar Ingrid could be either the place for a dinner with a fantastic view, or the morning meeting point for a typical Aeolian breakfast of granita and brioche, strictly with ‘tuppo’!

Leg 4

Salina: Charme, Buon Vino and Alfredo's granita

Salina boasts one of the two ports of the Aeolian Islands and is renowned for its anchorages, offering sailors a peaceful retreat among the azure waters. The bay of Pollara is just one of these places. Salina enchants visitors with its characteristic narrow streets, where colorful doors and windows overlook paved streets that lead to the sea and views framed by the flowers of the gardens, creating a romantic atmosphere. From the village of Salina it is possible to rent a vehicle to head towards Capo Faro, where the sky lights up with shades of orange and pink against the backdrop of the sea. Malfa, Punta Lena and Rinella will offer other points of interest on the island, both from the sea and from the land. Alfredo awaits us with his exquisite granita and brioche, but also the cuisine of his restaurant! And we will be able to immerse ourselves in the rich winemaking tradition of Salina with a tasting visit to Hauner, among exquisite wines on a typical Aeolian terrace.

Leg 5

Filicudi

Filicudi maintains the true hippy soul of the islands, here you go ashore barefoot and sit on colorful carpets or on the seafront to enjoy an aperitif at the Saloon, in the village of Pecorini a Mare. Between stories, songs and some tavern games, we spend an evening here in the most authentic spirit of the islands, we admire the sunset from a fantastic panoramic point of view, where Piero awaits us with his tables among the olive trees for a dinner based on typical dishes. In the morning we head towards La Canna, a column of ancient lava stone more than 70 meters high, a must both to enjoy a swim in an enchanting place and to relax at sunset. Together we will also visit the mystical Grotta del Bue Marino and take a bath in Capo Graziano, with its emerald waters and fascinating rock formations.

Leg 6

Alicudi

Alicudi, on the other hand, is just a dot lost in the vast sea! It is not always possible to reach it as the only anchorage remains one of the few buoys available. But it will be one of our goals, if possible! The famous donkeys, Adriana & Pino, await us for an authentic dinner at their common table, between laughter and a colorful repertoire of jokes, and some hidden gems such as the Bazzina Beach and the Rupe del Perciato. Of all, this is the wildest island and far from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Leg 7

Volcano: adventure and relaxation

Vulcano boasts a pier in the Baia Levante, along with buoys and safe anchorages in the Baia di Ponente as well. From Baia di Gelso, with its white lighthouse to the Pool of Venus, natural beauty and tranquility abound. Among the attractions of the island there are also the Grotta del Cavallo and the black sand beaches of the island, where you can enjoy an excellent aperitif while the sun slowly sets. For trekking lovers, it is also possible to venture without a guide to the summit of the volcano, where the view of the islands and the crater offer unique moments.

Leg 8

Lipari and the bluest waters of the Aeolian Islands

Let's explore Lipari, the largest and most populated of the Aeolian Islands, Lipari boasts some of the most wonderful bays, such as the Bay of Canneto with its azure waters, the Muria Valley with its turquoise waters and pebble beach, but also the majestic rock formations of the Faraglioni that dot the coast to the southwest. On land, Marina Corta and Marina Lunga immediately immerse us in the lively atmosphere of the seafront and in the charming historic center of Lipari, where there is also one of the largest colonies of cats on the islands. For adventure lovers, Lipari is home to numerous diving centers that offer the chance to explore the islands' vibrant underwater world.

Leg 9

Saturday - Check-out and hugs

The return to the port of Capo D'Orlando is scheduled for late Friday afternoon, it will be our last evening together, full of the good memories of the holiday just passed.

At 08:30 we will say goodbye! Unfortunately, our time together comes to an end this time, but see you soon for new adventures!

Aeolian Islands: between sea and authentic flavours

It was an experience that I really enjoyed and that I will definitely repeat. On my first boat holiday I had no particular expectations, but I was fully satisfied and happy. Emiliano is an excellent skipper: experienced, competent, serious and always attentive to the needs of the group. Personally I found him extremely helpful: I had asked for spearfishing equipment and he did his best to make sure I found it on board when I arrived. Only on a few occasions, when asked to change location, did he prefer to say no, always with a great sense of responsibility and clearly explaining the reasons — such as the risk of dangerous seabeds for the anchor or the excessive presence of other boats — to protect everyone's safety and well-being. It should be clarified that Nila was not a hostess, but a travel companion: collaborative, nice, courteous and attentive, who also had the kindness to prepare some good lunches for us. A truly unforgettable experience, which I recommend without hesitation. Of course, it is not a holiday for everyone: without a spirit of adaptation it is better to stay on the ground and the same goes for those who do not know how to behave politely towards others. I believe that the boat is synonymous with "sharing", not the place for those who claim to impose themselves.

Splendid Aeolian Islands, but an experience on board that could be improved. The itinerary to the Aeolian Islands was undoubtedly very beautiful and the islands lend themselves perfectly to a boat holiday. However, there were several aspects of the organization that did not fully convince me. The skipper showed experience in steering the boat, but his attitude was a bit grumpy at times and not always available in responding to our requests. In addition, he often used the common areas – already limited in a sailboat – to relax during the day and slept every evening in the dinette, snoring quite loudly from 22:30/23:00. This made it difficult for us to continue the evening with a chat or a drink in that space. On the economic level I perceived little clarity: at the beginning of the holiday we paid € 320 per person (which included 3 buoys, 2 floating piers and a port), but later we were asked to spend an additional € 300 for a night in port that should have already been abundantly included. Even the payment of fuel, requested in advance at the beginning of the week, surprised me, having never happened to me in previous similar experiences. As for Nila, she was present and friendly, but it should be clarified that she does not play the role of hostess: she does not cook and does not take care of cleaning unless specifically requested, which may be fair to emphasize for those who expect support of this type. Finally, on the evening of the last day in Capo d'Orlando we were asked to have dinner on the ground despite the fact that there were several leftovers in the fridge, with the motivation of having to start cleaning in view of the next group. At the end of the week, I didn't find this detail particularly pleasant. In conclusion, the trip was beautiful for the natural setting of the Aeolian Islands, but I believe that there is room for improvement in the management of hospitality on board and in transparency on costs.

We spent a beautiful week in the paradise of the Aeolian Islands aboard Emiliano and Nila's boat. The boat is comfortable and cared for in every detail. Nila and Emiliano were the perfect hosts, they let us taste several exquisite dishes of Sicilian cuisine prepared by them. They were also excellent travel companions, they guided us around the Aeolian Islands telling us about the history and traditions of the islands and recommended the best places both by sea and by land, thanks to their deep knowledge of the area and the people who live there. But above all, they made us feel like a family, between toasts in the middle of the sea, fun and laughter. They gave us unforgettable moments. Thank you!

Emiliano and Nila are more than just skippers, they were fantastic travel companions, chefs and social media managers, and they also guided us on land with their company and great suggestions. We will definitely repeat with them if possible!
