This experience, in a nutshell
Would You like to spend New Years Eve in a magical place surrounded by nature, looking for whales and Aurora Borealis? You can come with us to have a great time on board, relax and use the opportunity to set sails!
10 days of non-hurry sailing
From Tromso we head towards Skiervoy, place famous for whale watching where they hunt for food in the wintertime. Usually, in November, pods of whales come to the Lyngen area and stay until the beginning of January. It’s worth being here at this time of year to take your own photo with your camera.
Aurora shows are best viewed from secluded places – e.g. from the deck of a yacht – from the sea – without additional light around us. If the weather is not favorable, we can rent a car and start hunting for the Aurora! We will also show you the nice sandy bays in area, lovely small harbors in the bays from where you can approach to the glacier. We have a lot of time!
At this time of year we certainly won’t be climbing the highest peaks. Those about 800 m above sea level are within our reach.

Embarkation: Start of the journey from Tromso.
Leg 2
Day 2
Vannvag: Sail 8h (40NM), Sail to Vannvawg or another port offering a chance for some good but not too long trekking!
Leg 3
Day 3-6
Spildra and area nearby: Sail: 3h Trek:1-4h; Much less sailing, trekking to Arnoya, Dunvik and lots of interesting anchorages - we're not in a hurry! We will cross course several times with an area where whales can be found! We will enter the bay from where it is easy to reach the glacier.
Leg 4
Day 7
Skjervoy: Sail 1h, Whales; It is in these areas that orcas and whales can usually be found. We will be on their property all day.
Leg 5
Day 8
Lyngen Area: Sail: 8h trek:2h; We sail here a lot, so we know exactly where to stand, where the sauna is in the port and where there is a wonderful view. If there are no attractions - we can always arrange them like in the photo ;-)
Leg 6
Day 9
Tromso: Return to the Tromso area - 8 to 12 hours of sailing. On the 9th day at 9:00 a.m. disembarkation. After the cruise, we can recommend renting a car and hunting for the magic of lights!

Day 10-11
Finnsnes (2 days more free of charge): 8h/ 40Nm; If you have 2 days more- feel free to sail with us to Finnsnes!
