Give this experience a try!

This experience, in a nutshell

Are you looking for a good reason to spend a holiday in Elba? In addition to the almost 100 km of coastline, where there is a succession of breathtaking beaches and crystal clear waters, such as the beautiful beaches of Fetovaia, where turtles nest, or Ghiaie, to name only the most famous, this island is also the guardian of an ultra-millenary history and a unique and enchanting nature.

In fact, wonderful excursions await you such as those that lead to the summit of Monte Capanne, to be done on foot or by cable car, or to the ancient mining quarries, a source of supply of precious metals and minerals since Etruscan and Roman times and remained in operation until the last century.

Elba is home to seven municipalities and offers visitors different atmospheres, while remaining on the same island, passing from the lively and popular Porto Ferraio, to enchanting villages such as Sant' Ilario al Campo, an oasis of peace and serenity, even in the busiest months.

In addition to the Etruscan, Roman and Medici remains, the mining industry, the beaches, the landscapes and the excursions, you can enjoy a beautiful and crystal clear sea, where you can see gorgons, corals, moray eels, breams and starfish, as well as colorful reef fish and other underwater species, such as amberjacks and lobsters.

The Island of Elba is also known all over the world for the exile of Napoleon Bonaparte, whose residences remain as a testimony of that ancient splendor and can still be visited. The island offers a safe shelter from all winds, giving the possibility of safe roadsteads in wonderful sheltered bays, as well as stops in equipped ports, and is suitable for all ages and expectations, combining sailing holidays with the possibility of cultural and naturalistic tourism.

There is no shortage of nightlife, with beach parties, aperitifs and live music, all accompanied by the renowned Tuscan cuisine and its delicious wines. Not to mention the other nearby islands of the Tuscan archipelago, such as the beautiful island of Capraia, which we will visit during our holiday.

Sunday

Let's set sail. From Portoferraio, we will reach the northern side, small and delightful coves such as that of Viticcio, with a wild and unspoiled appearance,  which offer relaxation and privacy. We will continue from Capo d'Enfola to the Gulf of Procchio, where the fine sandy beach traces a golden arch caressed by an emerald and clear sea, In the evening you can visit the ancient and picturesque village of Marciana Marina, which stands on the slopes of Mount Capanne. The tourist center is full of bars, shops and restaurants and from the promenade you can enjoy one of the most fascinating views of the island.

Sunday

Leg 2

Monday

We will sail to Capraia, in a maximum of three hours of navigation. We will anchor in the splendid Cala Rossa, what remains of a volcanic vent over 4 million years old, it is one of the most spectacular coves in the Mediterranean, characterized by particular reddish cliffs that create a particularly suggestive contrast when meeting with the waters of the sea. whose seabed is clearly visible and of a special blue.

A natural paradise, rich in a varied flora and fauna. The island, located in the middle of the cetacean sanctuary, is an unexpected oasis of unspoiled nature that absolutely deserves to be visited.

Monday

Leg 3

Tuesday

Return to the Island of Elba. We will make a first stop at the beach of S. Andrea, a paradise for diving enthusiasts. Afterwards, stop in Pomonte where you can visit the wreck of the Elviscot, at the Ogliera rock. Finally, we will reach Cala Fetovaia, on the south-west side of the island, whose beach, one of the most evocative on the island, is set in a magnificent natural setting, between golden sand, granite cliffs and the colors of the sea. Here, in the summer of 2023, a record number of turtle nests was reached. Evening at anchor in Fetovaia or at the roadstead of Marina di Campo.

Tuesday

Leg 4

Wednesday

We will sail along the southern side, against the backdrop of the deepest gulf of the island. 1200 meters of fine golden beach with dune areas shaded by a beautiful pine forest. On the beach there are many facilities for water sports, such as canoeing or wind surfing.

Finally, we will continue towards the Stella Gulf.

Wednesday

Leg 5

Thursday

We will spend the day stopping in beautiful coves, such as the beach of lovers or the beach of Bue Marino, near the Gemini Islands. Before reaching Porto Azzurro we will stop at the beach of Punta Nera where the curious can dive to see the wreck of the Islander, a small tourist plane that lies at a depth of 13 m.

In the evening you can visit the fishing village of Porto Azzurro, which is also rich in evidence of the ancient past. Between narrow alleys and intricate streets, the village offers long and fun summer nights.

Thursday

Leg 6

Friday

Return sail from Porto Azzurro to Porto Ferraio. The island will never cease to amaze us, offering coves and small, wonderful private beaches bathed by a crystal clear sea, such as Cala Seregola or the beaches of Nisportino and Sassi Rossi.

Friday

Leg 7

Saturday

After the last roadstead in the welcoming and sheltered bay of Portoferraio Ferraio, which will leave us with a pleasant memory, we return to port for disembarkation.

Settimana a dir poco fantastica.

Flegrean and Pontine Islands on a sailing boat

Giorgia e Francesco
