This experience, in a nutshell

A catamaran holiday in Cilento is an ideal cruise for groups of friends, couples or families with children.

Characterized by kilometers of pristine beaches between caves and rocks overlooking a crystal clear sea with an extraordinary seabed, Cilento offers a lively welcome and an incredible variety of food and wine products along the coast with the highest number of Blue Flags!

The "typical

" week (N.B. with optimal weather/sea conditions and subject to availability of berth in the marinas) provides for the alternation of a night at anchor and one in port, so as to be able to meet the different needs of those who prefer to spend an evening immersed in nature dining on board in the moonlight and those who prefer to go ashore for a walk and a typical dinner in one of the many restaurants of our villages enjoying the food and wine delicacies of the place. The stop in the ports will also allow you to replenish your water supply, supplementing, if necessary, the galley.

During the day we will alternate short stretches of navigation mainly along the coast with stops for swimming, relaxation and fun in the many bays that characterize our itinerary.

The atmosphere that is created in this type of holiday is relaxed and informal. Whether you are traveling with friends or you decide to go alone, lots of laughter and new and beautiful friendships await you!

You will experience wonderful and carefree days in the open air in close contact with nature, avoiding crowded holiday resorts. You will immerse yourself in new, exciting, relaxing and rejuvenating contexts by unplugging from the usual routine.

Extra activities: in some locations you will have the opportunity to book, if conditions permit, optional extra activities (excursions, trekking, via ferratas, scuba diving, baptisms of the sea). Once on board, if interested, we will provide further details. For obvious organizational reasons, it will be necessary to agree on the timing necessary for the management of the extra activities.

In short, if you have never had a catamaran holiday, you should definitely try it! It's never too late!!

INFORMATION ON THE COMMON CASH:
. The expenses for the Common Cash are related to fuel costs and stopovers in ports and/or marine protected areas. The fee per person will obviously depend on the number of crew members as they will be divided among all participants. The minimum number of participants for our experiences is 4.

. N.B. Galley expenses will be your responsibility and are included in the above range. They will, of course, depend on the type of spending you decide to do (alcoholic beverages usually affect the price of the galley a lot).

Catamarano Bali 4.0 prodotto dal cantiere Catana, rinomato per l’innovativa linea da crociera. Si distingue per comodità, praticità e basso pescaggio e presenta spazi decisamente superiori a quelli dei suoi concorrenti di pari categoria. Il layout interno del catamarano prevede quattro cabine doppie per gli ospiti ciascuna con il proprio bagno/doccia e un ulteriore cabina e bagno per lo skipper. Ciascuna cabina dispone di numerosi vani porta oggetti, cassettiera, armadio, ventilatore e abat jour. Tra i due scafi è posizionata una spaziosa cucina dotata di un forno a gas e di un frigorifero all'americana di 272 litri, delle stesse dimensioni di quelli che abbiamo nei nostri appartamenti. Un’innovativa concezione fa si che la dinette del catamarano Bali 4.0 diventi un unico ampio ambiente con il pozzetto posteriore grazie al portellone di chiusura completamente ribaltabile. Questa soluzione è presente solo su questa tipologia di catamarano. Si evidenziano inoltre il grande divano ad L e la penisola della cucina, non presenti sui modelli precedenti. Il layout esterno prevede, a differenza degli altri catamarani, un ampio spazio nella zona di prua con divano, due tavolini e un ampissimo prendisole. Il pozzetto di prua rappresenta il fiore all'occhiello di questo catamarano Bali 4.0. Al posto della usuale rete presente sugli altri catamarani, Catana ha ideato un pozzetto rigido che consente di avere avanti alla tuga un ulteriore enorme prendisole. Da notare l'ampio finestrone a scomparsa che consente di far vivere in un unico ambiente chi sta nel pozzetto di prua con chi sta in dinette garantendo, quando si è ancorati in baia, grande ariosità e veduta. Sulla tuga, oltre alla seduta del timoniere, posizionata sul lato destro, abbiamo due ulteriori sedute e un comodissimo prendisole. Infine nella zona di poppa un ulteriore spazio si crea quando il tender è in acqua e la plancia è ribaltata verso poppa. Tutto quanto sopra descritto fa del Bali il catamarano ideale per una vacanza in barca all’insegna della comodità e del relax, offrendo agli ospiti spazi inimmaginabili sui monoscafi e riducendo al minimo i fastidiosi rollii.

Sapri, perfectly connected by high-speed trains and easily accessible from the motorway, is the last town in Campania before Basilicata and the most populous village in the Gulf of Policastro. Sapri is a natural harbour, a gulf within a gulf with remains dating back to the time of the Roman Empire. One of the greatest compliments came from Cicero, who called it "Little gema of the South Sea".

Our embarkation and disembarkation base will allow you to admire the famous statue of the "Gleaner".

In addition to Sapri, depending on the weather and sea conditions, we will stop at two of the following three ports.

Maratea

Basilicata overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea with a strip of coastline only 30 kilometers long, but it is 30 kilometers of continuous heartbeat among breathtaking landscapes.

Vertical rock walls plunge into the sea, creating small coves that can only be reached by boat. Descending southwards, you will come across the towns of Acquafredda, Cersuta and Fiumicello until you reach the ancient village of Maratea, dominated by Mount San Biagio, on which stands the famous Statue of the Redeemer.

Also known as the "Christ of Maratea", the statue is second in size only to the one in Rio de Janeiro. To increase the beauty of the city is its port, which guarantees services and hospitality to boats and on summer evenings becomes one of the attractions of the place for the numerous social events it hosts.

Scario

A seaside hamlet in the municipality of San Giovanni a Piro, Scario is a picturesque seaside village located by the sea on the slopes of Mount Bulgheria. A renowned tourist centre with one of the best-equipped ports in the area, Scario enjoys suggestive attractions, including its beautiful seafront and the wonderful Masseta coast. The rocks of Mount Bulgheria sink into the sea, forming one of the most beautiful underwater paradises in the Mediterranean, rich in marine species that have long since disappeared elsewhere.

The stretch of coast that stretches from Scario to Punta degli Infreschi, the western limit of the Gulf of Policastro, is accessible almost exclusively from the sea.

Marina di Camerota

Marina di Camerota is the most famous hamlet of the municipality of Camerota, (an ancient village perched on Mount Bulgheria) and represents its ancient outlet to the sea. Today this place has become one of the most famous and sought-after destinations for Cilento seaside tourism thanks to its beautiful coasts made up of wide beaches with white sand set between the rocks covered with wild vegetation.

In the historic center of Marina di Camerota there is the main square, Piazza San Domenico, from which several streets and alleys full of clubs, shops and restaurants wind. On summer evenings, the centre is very lively thanks to the numerous concerts and live shows.

The stops at anchor, weather and sea conditions permitting, will be:

Dino Island and Arco Magno

Continuing southwards we arrive in Calabria, which welcomes us with the Island of Dino. Not to be missed are the many thousand-year-old caves, among which the most interesting is the Blue Grotto, which can be reached with the free sups at your disposal, reminiscent of the one in Capri, with colors that take on all shades of light blue, and the Lion's Grotto, so called because of a rock that resembles a lying lion.

Not far from the island of Dino there is another Calabrian wonder: the Arcomagno di San Nicola Arcella (access in some periods is subject to local ordinances).

The Arcomagno beach is crescent-shaped and owes its name to the presence of a large natural rock arch that "protects" it from the sea. The scenery becomes even more evocative thanks to the Grotta del Saraceno, which is located right next to it: a cavity sculpted over the centuries by the erosive activity of the sea and which contains one of the countless freshwater springs.

Baia Infreschi,

also known as Porto Infreschi or Cala Infreschi , is a marine protected area, and is one of the most interesting bays with turquoise waters in the Italian peninsula.

Its beauty allowed it to win the Legambiente award for the most beautiful beach in Italy in 2014. This bay is highly appreciated for the clarity of the waters and the unspoiled nature that surrounds it. The name recalls the freshwater springs that flow into the sea, creating the strange phenomenon of surface waters that are colder than those closer to the seabed.

In the same bay, where we will spend a night at anchor, for those who wish there will be the opportunity to taste, with delivery directly on board, the fish delicacies of the renowned restaurant "Pirata di Baia Infreschi".

Bay of Good Sleep - Palinuro

The promontory of Capo Palinuro is a high cliff overlooking the sea, famous for its numerous Saracen towers and forts built around the sixteenth century to defend the coast and can still be visited. Beautiful landscape also as a film set for the Wonder Woman film.

Hidden by the high rock wall and reachable only by sea is La Baia del Buon Dormire. This small bay is a beach with clear waters, emerald green and fine golden sand. In front of the beach is the "Scoglio del Coniglio", so called because of its shape.

Finally, the

famous Arco Naturale Beach, located near the mouth of the Mingardo river outside the center of Palinuro. The rocky arch overlooks the fine sandy beach, which is particularly fascinating at sunset.

Discovering CILENTO by CATAMARAN!

L'escursione di una settimana è organizzata in modo da garantire la massima resa con la minima spesa allo skipper (ma possiamo chiamare così chi naviga solo a motore?) Il golfo di Policastro e il catamarano di Antonio non sono raccomandabili a chi vuole fare un'esperienza in barca a vela. Se, invece, l'obiettivo della vacanza è di costeggiare spinti dal gasolio anziché dal vento, questa è l'escursione perfetta e la barca è davvero comoda. Sono stata molto bene sul catamarano, era come essere in un appartamento Antonio è un bravo animatore-----------------------------------------------RISPOSTA DELLO SKIPPER------------------------------------------------------Cara Silvia è stato un vero piacere averti a bordo. Confondere i compiti di uno skipper con quelli di un animatore da villaggio turistico spiega egregiamente il perché tu non riesca a comprendere che una barca a vela, in assenza di vento, con il solo ausilio delle vele, ahimè non riesce a muoversi. Ciò detto, già gli antichi romani, nelle loro galere, avevano risolto questa tediosa problematica dell'assenza di vento. Non volendo bruciare gasolio, ricorrevano all utilizzo di remi, rinunciando contestualmente anche ad alcune piccole comodità tipiche dei nostri tempi...il salpa ancora elettrico, il frigo, l acqua corrente, la strumentazione di bordo nonché l illuminazione, senza contare la necessaria corrente elettrica per ricaricare telefonini computer portatili e dispositivi di vario genere. In riferimento alla "minima spesa, massima resa" trattasi del consumo di litri 60 di gasolio per un intera settimana che sono stati scontati alla cifra di euro 100 da dividere per le 7 ospiti a bordo. Essendo considerato alla stregua di un animatore (con tutto il rispetto per quella professione) capisco che magari ti saresti immaginata di vedermi volteggiare tra una randa e un fiocco, così, giusto per diletto, e mi spiace non aver colto questo tuo desiderio...ne farò tesoro per la prossima volta che, nonostante le danze propiziatorie e i sacrifici al dio Eolo, costui proprio non si degnasse di mandarmi un solo refolo di vento.

Antonio è un uomo gentile simpatico e intelligente con cui si è già discusso delle difficoltà avute nel viaggio e sono certa che ne terrà conto. Viaggio deludente forse anche perchè nel programma erano previsti attracchi in paesini descritti in modo molto accattivante e invece unica discesa a terra per vedere il paese e cenare è stata Maratea. Ci siamo poi fermati a Scario ma solo perchè si è rotto il motore. Per il resto si arrivava al mattino in rada in mezzo a decine decine decine di barche ( e loro deiezioni) e non ci si spostava fino alla mattina dopo (compresa musica a tutto volume fino a tarda notte). Sempre troppo distanti da spiaggette e costa rocciosa per fare snorkelling. Provengo daaltre esperienze con Sailsquare, sempre a ferragosto, in cui si cercavano e trovavano condizioni di ancoraggio che ti permettevano comunque digodere del mare pulito, fare snorkelling eanche alzare le vele in tranquillità. Può essere che questo tratto di costa non offrisse alternative, io non posso saperlo---------------------------------------------RISPOSTA DELLO SKIPPER----------------------------------------------Cara Virginia è stato un piacere averti a bordo, mi spiace che la tua SECONDA esperienza (totalizzata in 68 anni) in barca a vela sia stata deludente, nonostante tutto ho ammirato tantissimo la tua ferrea volontà a fare nuove esperienze che ti ha aiutato a superare qualsiasi ostacolo anagrafico. Fin dal giorno dell'imbarco è stato un piacere aiutarti a salire a bordo tramite la passerella di cui sono forniti i catamarani, e durante la crociera l aiutarti ad usufruire della scaletta per uscire dall'acqua, che gli ingegneri navali del BALI, hanno, ahimè, fatto oggettivamente troppo stretta. La profonda esperienza accumulata nell unico precedente viaggio in barca, ti ha forse tratto in inganno riguardo il programma e le soste nei porti. Nonostante nelle settimane precedenti la partenza vi abbia specificato per iscritto, per ben 3 volte, che durante la settimana di ferragosto non è scontato ne certo trovare posto nelle marine, siamo comunque riusciti, grazie alle mie conoscenze sul territorio, ad alternare una notte in rada e una in porto come da programma (ci tengo a sottolineare) di MASSIMA, in quanto nelle crociere in barca a vela il programma è tale e variabile anche in funzione delle condimeteo, e non vangelo. Non vorrei tu abbia confuso la vacanza sulla Costa Crociere con quella su catamarano. Sta di fatto che nelle tue recensioni così scrupolose affermi di aver avuto la possibilità di scendere a terra una sola volta, salvo poi contraddirti aggiungendo la seconda sosta nel paese di Scario. Anche qui mi permetto di rettificare i tuoi ricordi forse un po' confusi, non si è ROTTO nessun motore, semplicemente c era dello sporco nel gasolio fatto la settimana precedente che ha otturato momentaneamente l impianto di alimentazione che va dal serbatoio del carburante ai filtri posti prima del motore. Intoppo assolutamente increscioso e di cui mi scuso, che però tengo a sottolineare, è stato risolto da me (definito da Silva un simpatico animatore) nel giro di poche ore non andando assolutamente ad inficiare il tranquillo prosieguo della vacanza. Di fatto il meccanico ha provveduto alla pulizia del carburante mentre eravamo alla fonda aspettando l OK per l ingresso all' ormeggio di Scario. Quindi anche in questo caso i tuoi ricordi, se non faziosi, risultano quanto meno lacunosi. Sono altresì costernato dal fatto che anche altre persone abbiano osato pretendere di andare in barca durante la settimana di ferragosto. Persone, magari costrette dal lavoro, che hanno la possibilità di un po' di svago, ahimè, solo durante quella settimana, non certo come tutte le mie 6 gentili ospiti, tutte libere professioniste in vacanza da mesi o addirittura pensionate che avrebbero potuto scegliere qualsiasi altro periodo in modo tale da poter fare il bagno solo nelle PROPRIE deiezioni e non essere costrette a condividere la voglia di relax con il resto del volgo, che ahimè, la sera di ferragosto tende a sentire la musica. Per quel che riguarda l ancoraggio e lo snorkeling, faccio presente che il codice della navigazione e le varie ordinanze locali, che mi sono preso la briga di studiare, prevedono una distanza minima di 300 metri dalla costa sabbiosa e di 180 da quella rocciosa. Il catamarano è altresì fornito di ben due SUP messi a disposizione della gentile clientela in modo totalmente gratuito, per avvicinarsi alla costa rispettando le leggi e la normativa vigente. Spiace che non abbiate mai voluto farne uso.
