This experience, in a nutshell

If you are thinking about your next trip, let yourself be tempted by our proposals to experience Ionian Greece on a sailing boat and get ready to set sail with us!

More and more people are choosing to share this experience and the reason is simple: crystal clear sea, wild bays, fiery sunsets and nights under a starry sky, all in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.

A sailing holiday is all this and much more. Sailing between the islands of Ionian Greece is a unique experience, the perfect way to disconnect from the routine and let yourself be carried away by the rhythm of the sea, between unspoiled nature and authentic villages.

The age range is approximately 23–45 years: we try to find the best possible match between the participants, making the crews as homogeneous as possible by age and creating mixed groups. It is precisely this balance that, over the years, has given rise to special friendships and memories that remain over time.

NATURE, FRIENDS & PARTY!

If you like the idea of spending a week in the company of new friends, sailing through the turquoise waters of Ionian Greece, this flotilla is for you. You will live on board a sailboat that will be your home for a week: dives in bays that can only be reached by sea, aperitifs at sunset, evenings in Greek ports and moments of celebration between boats, music and laughter. All alternating fun, relaxation and sailing, immersed in one of the most fascinating corners of the Mediterranean.

A "DIFFERENT" PHILOSOPHY

Those who participate in our flotilla holidays in Ionian Greece love the sea, nature, fun and life on a sailing boat. Our itinerary, organized and shared by all the boats of the flotilla, includes moments dedicated to swimming in the most beautiful and wild bays of Ionian Greece, to discover hidden corners that can only be reached by sea, alternating with moments of sociality and parties on the boat and on land: aperitifs at sunset, dinners in Greek ports, evenings with friends and some parties between boats.

Life on board is an integral part of the experience and requires everyone's collaboration, the care of one's own spaces and respect for the order of the equipment, always in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.

IS THE "NATURE, FRIENDS & PARTY" FLOTILLA RIGHT FOR ME?

The sailing holiday in Ionian Greece by Different Sailing is designed for those who want to make new friends and live an intense and authentic experience, including unspoiled nature, sailing, relaxation and fun.

We will share together days of sailing, swimming in turquoise waters, moments of celebration and small adventures that will make this week an unforgettable memory.

Our itinerary

Our trip starts here:

Gouvia (Corfu).

Check-in: 5:00 PM

Our trip ends here:

Gouvia (Corfu).

Check-out: 9:00 AM

Leg 1

SATURDAY - Boarding in Corfu: the crew is born!

We get on board in Gouvia Marina: cabin assignment, easy briefing and off with the galley (the first real group ritual). In the afternoon you settle in, get familiar with the boat and above all get to know each other: four crews, one atmosphere.

In the evening: first dinner all together and first flotilla party, the one in which hellos become names, and names already become friends.

Leg 2

SUNDAY - First clearings, first sunsets, first party at sea

We set sail early: dives in Nisis Vido, lunch in the roadstead in Galiskari and then route to Erikoussa. Arrival in the afternoon with sunset at sea and evening signature of the flotilla: aperitif, dinner and party under the stars.

Leg 3

MONDAY - Wild islands and the magic of the night

Morning between swimming and relaxation in Mathraki, then Othonoi with crazy waters and (if conditions ok) caves and excursion. At midnight the adventure begins: night navigation to Antipaxos. Quiet shifts, sky full of stars, the flotilla flowing in the dark like a small epic journey.

Leg 4

TUESDAY - Dream Antipaxos, then Paxos that lights up

Sunrise and anchorage in paradise: Paralia Voutoumi (and/or nearby roadsteads), turquoise sea and postcard lunch. In the afternoon arrival in Paxos (Gaios): mooring, walk through alleys and illuminated port. In the evening: dinner and evening on land, clubs, toasts, laughter and that atmosphere that makes the group become a company.

Leg 5

WEDNESDAY - Scenic Parga: the night you remember

Short navigation to Parga: perched village, super scenic, beautiful roadsteads.

Evening on land among narrow streets, dinners with a view and a real Greek atmosphere: Parga is one of those places that stays with you.

Leg 6

THURSDAY - Blue Lagoon and party!

Route to Blue Lagoon, swimming in transparent waters and roadsteads to choose from at a glance.

After lunch: final party at sea among nearby boats, music, aperitifs and group photos.

Leg 7

FRIDAY - Last dives, last toasts.. and return to Corfu

Return to Gouvia, refueling and then last roadstead for lunch and swimming.

In the evening : last party, contacts exchanged and the classic promise: see you soon!

Leg 8

SATURDAY - Hugs and goodbye

Disembarkation by 9:00 a.m.

The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions and/or technical or logistical reasons, in order to ensure safety and a pleasant sailing experience for all participants.

Even if the holiday had been wonderful I had already decided that I would not have given more than 3/5 for the organizational system of different sailing is among the worst I have seen, and evidently I don't want to make a good impression to have a subsequent discounted holiday The many years of experience of the company of which he boasts, did not make him understand until 3 days before departure that the "rules on boat approvals are more stringent IN GREECE" (as if they had never done it before) having to add an extra boat and divide the crews again by further reducing the groups and redoing the chats of the boats already created with enormous delay. And above all, from this point of view, there was no chat with the whole group of 40 people where everyone could write and get to know each other, but only one for each boat, which from 4 became 5, therefore with fewer people with whom to communicate in a group (they also say they have always done so). The chat can also be used to organize trips IN COMPANY for those who make the same flight/ship/taxi/car and DIVIDE THE EXPENSES. On the contrary, we all arrived as strangers individually, even for those who took the same vehicle and came from the same area. In fact, I made a 20-hour ferry trip discovering at the time of descent that there was another member of the group on the same ship. In addition to the skipper who lives at the expense of the crew (but so I was told that it must be) the co-skipper in the same condition has also been added (fortunately nice), and therefore already at the start there is to add almost what was paid for the boat to have equipment that should already be included, and then to maintain 2 more people. Like all boat holidays you see a price to join but then you have to add almost as much to have a place to sleep, towels, sheets, cleaning, lifesaving tools, etc. Just imagine going to a 5-star hotel and paying extra to have a bed, a bathroom, sheets, towels, cleaning. At the time of booking I called and expressly asked the organizer to avoid the occurrence of situations that punctually happened, as if I had never said anything before, so it was totally useless

Overall, I liked the experience, but I would have preferred more attention and care in the organization of travel, group moments and, above all, moments dedicated to the sea. Unfortunately, due to some organizational shortcomings on the part of the Different Sailing staff, I feel that it was not possible to fully enjoy the experience. The boat was also delivered to us late and in less than optimal condition: it was not particularly clean and in the following days we had to take care of the cleaning ourselves. As for the holiday itself, however, it was a lot of fun, especially thanks to our crew, made up of wonderful people who helped make the experience much better. However, it should also be noted that, initially, a maximum of 10 people per boat was expected, while in the end we found ourselves in 13, without having been adequately informed of the change. In my opinion, 13 people were a bit too many for the available space and this inevitably affected the comfort on board. Ultimately, I can't say that the experience was totally negative, because the group and the people I met made the holiday enjoyable. However, considering the organizational aspects and the condition of the boat, we will probably choose another company rather than Different Sailing in the future.

Overall nice experience, but mainly due to the people who participated and the beauty of the places visited. From a human point of view, my skipper and co-skipper are two wonderful and super pleasant people. The organization should be reviewed on some things and there is certainly room for improvement: - in 7 days practically no boat has almost never sailed (I can understand that the wind cannot be controlled, but even when there is sufficient minimum it has not even opened the sails a little just enough to let the crew enjoy the experience, but the impression of many was that there was no desire to unfurl the sails because it was more convenient to travel by motor); - lack of clarity on the program to follow (very often improvised); - confusion about the galley (practically all the boats received an expense that did not fully correspond to the agreed list. If it had been the crew's task to verify, we were not told, perhaps we could have at least pointed out to pay attention since many were at their first experience); - insufficient moments of celebration and socialization (few times we packed with the boats, most of the time they were all "mismatched" and even when the music was played, maybe just 2 evenings, it was turned off quite early. Many of us did not feel the typical spirit of the flotilla); - selection of the crew (some elements proved to be disturbing even before the start, already when booking the holiday, and it was the common idea of many crew members that these elements should not have had the opportunity to participate); - little involvement from the skippers and co-skippers (there was no initial presentation of the various components and between the various crews, which normally happens in other holidays of the same type, but even throughout the holiday it was noticed that they were doing a lot of their business; - inadequate explanation of the main safety rules (we have been extensively explained how to use the toilet, how to arrange personal and galley things, but not what to do or not to do on the boat for our safety and that of others).
