This experience, in a nutshell

The Lofoten archipelago is a mountain range made up of bold young peaks that plunges into the North Atlantic off the coast of Norway in a crescendo of geographical exuberance that has few parallels in the world.

The most famous peaks are concentrated on a dozen main islands, while a good thousand islets, islets and reefs take charge of making navigation more exciting for sailors and fishermen who have been navigating these waters for centuries in search of adventure and cod.

A sailing experience in the Lofoten Islands is undoubtedly one of the most extraordinary adventures that can be experienced for lovers of the sea and wild nature. A breathtaking landscape of craggy mountains, deep fjords and crystal clear waters that mix with the endless sky.

Sailing in these waters is an unforgettable experience. The silence broken only by the rustle of the wind between the sails and the gentle roar of the water against the hull creates an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. The sea around Lofoten is often calm and serene, ideal for sailing, but it can also give strong emotions with the winds coming down from the surrounding mountains.

The air you breathe is fresh and clean, full of pine and salty scents, while the midnight sun lights up the sky for endless hours during the summer.

The chances of spotting wildlife while sailing are numerous. You can see eagle rays, whales and dolphins, and maybe even curious seals approaching the boat. These encounters make the experience even more magical.

In the heart of Lofoten, there are numerous hidden bays and remote coves where you can drop anchor and moor for the night.

Sailing adventure in Norway: chasing the Northern Lights

I was delighted to have the opportunity to experience sailing in this part of the world. The location and scenery was stunning. Marco and his wife Britta were excellent hosts. They take extra measures to ensure their guests are looked after. Marco was a very knowledgeable and experienced sailor and I would hope to have the opportunity to visit this area and sail with them again. Grazie Mille

Wonderful experience, I would repeat. Seen the orcas and auroras! The eclectic Captain Marco is very competent and helpful, the very active Britta is super welcoming, attentive to everyone's needs. A stay in their very special home for the warmth, sympathy and "feeling at home". Thank you!

Islands at the edge of the world

A simply wonderful holiday, led by a caring and exquisite skipper from every point of view, on a boat that makes us regret the direction taken by the shipyards in the last 30 years, in an environment that has often left us speechless. Marco and Britta live in Vannoya, one of these islands at the edge of the world that we had the opportunity to visit, and they manage to share with their guests all their enthusiasm for these places. I can't imagine better guides! A small warning for those thinking of embarking on this journey: you will want to return to visit new friends, to get your hands on the wheel of the helm, to visit the cozy Haus of Books. Thanks again Britta and Marco, see you soon!
