My partner and I spent this beautiful holiday aboard the catamaran Lagoon 41 sailing the Aeolian archipelago together with Captain [hidden] and his very good second Fritz.
The whole week passed happily giving us a deep and engaging sea experience, despite it being our first experience.
No lack but a lot of attention, synonymous with professionalism, for us and for all the guests by the crew who supported, guided and advised us at every moment of the trip.
The itinerary was complete and varied as well as the stops, many and different to visit the most beautiful and reserved bays of all the islands.
There was no shortage of stops on land to visit the most characteristic city centers as well as some evenings on land of absolute fun.
Specifically we visited and stayed
- Sunday, Vulcano beach of Gelso, Lipari beach of Pumice, island of Panarea with disembarkation and re-embarkation in the evening and night of the participants on the island.
-Monday, white and black herringbone beaches, and then continue to the island of Basiluzzo, Stromboli (disembarkation in the village and at 7 pm departure for the fascinating "sciara" of fire, with safe return to the buoy after 11.00 pm).
I would like to point out that our route was greatly conditioned by the "recovery" of a guest on board to ensure that she too could enjoy this wonderful experience, after her immediate abandonment of the holiday for personal reasons at the Port of Milazzo before departure on the Saturday of embarkation. Guest then recovered later with a new boarding on board strongly desired by Captain [hidden], a choice in my opinion absolutely appreciable.
on Tuesday, therefore, island of Panarea northern bay, island of Salina bay tip Lamie and evening anchorage in the bay in front of the port of Santa Maria di Salina, where, the crew went ashore to visit the village and dinner out, recovery of a guest and our recovery at the port by the Second Fritz with the tender.
On Wednesday a storm front arrived with winds of 40-60 knots; we then stopped in calm waters and thanks to the choice of 2 different stations we were able to enjoy quiet underwater activities and carefree swimming protected from bad weather.
New stop and stop at the white beaches of Lipari and then off to the port of Lipari, because it was expected to be a real stormy air that began as expected at 18:30.
On this occasion, Captain [hidden] reassured us of the presence of AIS transceivers which transmit the course, speed, satellite position and/or current navigation status or anchorage and name of the vessel, which made us understand that we were sailing in total safety.
After the storm front on Thursday we set sail at 12 after shopping and tour the village with the very pleasant surprise of finding the catamaran again clean in every environment including cabins and sanitary facilities (a heartfelt thanks to the captain and his second for their widespread attention to everything)
We have again "cast off" to go to other fascinating bays of Lipari.
The bay of Praia (with two different anchorages to avoid the jellyfish brought by the storm).
With jellyfish spread almost everywhere, Captain [hidden], thanks to his experience, recommended various options to look for places that could have less presence of jellyfish in the water.
So, in fact, it was and we were able to continue swimming in bays where the jellyfish were not carried there by the current.
We continued on the last day to Vulcano, a bay north of Cannitello (to avoid the many jellyfish that had arrived).
Another good experience around 13.00 where we tried to sail towards Milazzo, I must say exciting experience to see the sails unfurled; we arrived at 16.00 at Cala Liparota, to visit a nature reserve and still swim until the last possible minute and also to break the return journey and make it more pleasant.
At 17:00 we set sail and returned to the port of Milazzo at 18:30.
A varied, interesting, fascinating, surprising "cruise", in which the fundamental role of [hidden] (Captain) and Fritz (His Second) played an indubitable added value of Professionalism, education at sea but above all of SAFETY.
Finally, I will limit myself to underlining that having avoided an imminent and very dangerous storm front by allowing us to carry on a carefree holiday, without stops, guaranteeing us sun and calm sea would already be enough to outline the Professionalism of the Captain and his "Help".
I would also add their great unifying ability that has allowed us to give added value to this holiday despite having been repeatedly undermined by the tensions created by the "recovered" guest, which could inevitably undermine the cohesion and serenity between all of us; thanks to the professionalism of the Captain and his help and the undoubted intelligence of the other guests on board, an atmosphere of harmony and cohesion was maintained, making this experience positive and unforgettable.
After this holiday, my partner and I know the sea a little better, we have much more respect for it and we brought with us not only a beautiful summer experience but also a life experience.
Thank you.
We will see you again soon on board ......
