This experience, in a nutshell

Sailing in the northern Cyclades means entering the heart of the Aegean, where the blue of the sea blends with the white of the houses and the wind is part of the game. The islands are beaten by the famous Meltemi, the north wind that in the summer months refreshes the air and makes navigation more sporty and adrenaline-pumping.

The archipelago of the northern Cyclades alternates between barren and wild coasts with small fishing villages, hidden bays with lively marinas: an essential landscape that enhances the colors of the sky and the water. The sea is clear, with seabeds ranging from very light turquoise to deep blue, almost always suitable for stops at anchor, swimming and snorkeling in calm waters. Evenings in port or bay offer intense starry skies that transform the boat into a terrace overlooking the cosmos.

The Greek atmosphere can be perceived in many small details: the relaxed rhythm of the villages, the taverns with wooden tables and checkered tablecloths, the scent of grilled fish, oregano and lemon. Walking through the narrow streets of the port villages, you pass whitewashed houses, blue doors and windows, small Orthodox churches with blue domes and golden icons.

WHO IS THIS HOLIDAY DESIGNED FOR?
This holiday is designed for travelers between 30 and 45 years old, curious, active people with a desire to share experiences. The sailboat becomes a small floating community: you live in close contact, collaborate in maneuvers, cook together, laugh in the cockpit telling each other about your trips, jobs and dreams. The environment is informal and convivial, perfect for those who want to socialize without rigidity, meet new people with similar interests and create bonds that often last beyond the week of navigation. You don't need to be an expert sailor: those who already have experience can participate more actively, while those who are beginners can learn the basics, try to steer, become familiar with the wind and the boat.

The evenings are the moment when the social soul of the trip comes out to the fullest. At anchor you dine on board, perhaps anchored in an almost deserted bay, with the sky full of stars and background music chosen by the crew; Everyone participates as they can, some in the kitchen, some in the dishes, some in the musical selection. In the port, however, you go ashore: walk along the seafront, aperitif with sunset over the sea, dinner in a tavern where the tables are practically on the beach, your feet almost in the sand and the sound of the waves a few meters away.

The mood of the holiday is a balance between fun and nature, between sociality and moments of calm. Here there are no crowded discos or obligatory programs: there are evenings in the tavern, chats until late on deck, a few toasts and a lot of lightness, but always with a focus on well-being and the quality of the time spent together. Those looking for a more authentic and less "glossy" fun find the northern Cyclades the ideal context.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • WHAT EXTRA EXPENSES TO CONSIDER? In addition to the participation fee, you will have to consider the common fund, the starter pack (€ 150 per person), the security deposit (€ 100 per person, in the absence of damage the amount will be returned in full upon disembarkation) and the practical management fee to be paid in Marmaglia after booking (€ 50 per person).

  • IS MEDICAL-LUGGAGE INSURANCE INCLUDED? No, it is not understood. It is advisable to take out medical-luggage-cancellation insurance coverage with HeyMondo, a selected partner of Marmaglia, through which you will be able to access different policy options and freely choose the coverage that best suits your needs, including for example additional guarantees for cancellation, adventure sports, electronic devices, excess and more. If the client decides not to activate any insurance, he accepts to assume all responsibility for any unforeseen events, waivers, medical expenses, loss or damage, relieving Marmaglia S.L. of any obligation or liability in this regard.

Our itinerary

Our trip starts here:

Lavrio.

Check-in: 6:00 PM

Our trip ends here:

Lavrio.

Check-out: 8:00 AM

Leg 1

Giorno 1 – Lavrio

Boarding at the port of Lavrio, cabin check, luggage storage and short safety briefing on board. Once the galley and formalities are over, we go out for a first night at anchor to get to know all the crews.

Leg 2

Giorno 2 – Lavrio, Megalonisos

After breakfast we point the bow of our boats towards the island of Megalonisos, about 20 miles away. The arrival is scheduled in the roadstead in the bay of Likorema, a sheltered body of water where you spend the night at anchor, with the possibility of mooring with ropes on land according to the conditions.

Leg 3

Giorno 3 – Megalonisos → Batsi

After breakfast and a first morning swim, we set sail from Megalonisos heading towards the island of Andros, arriving in the port of Batsi. The route allows you to enjoy a stretch of sea typical of the northern Cyclades, with open scenery and wind often favorable to sailing.

The evening continues with dinner in a tavern by the sea, where the tables are practically on the beach, between soft lights and the smell of grilled fish.

Leg 4

Day 4 – BatsKithnos

The day starts early, with morning departure from Batsi in the direction of Gyaros, an island historically used as a place of detention and today almost uninhabited.

After lunch on board, we depart for Agios Stefanos, on the coast of Kithnos, with a navigation of about 20 miles. The bay is highly regarded for its picturesque setting, clear water, unspoiled nature and the presence of shipwrecks which make it a very fun place to snorkel.

Night at anchor in Agios Ioannis, a quiet cove with a cozy atmosphere ideal for an evening under the stars. Here you can enjoy the sea until sunset, perhaps organizing a dinner on board in full "Greek mood" style.

Leg 5

Day 5 – Kythnos, South Coast

The fifth day is dedicated to exploring the south coast of Kythnos. The main destination is the iconic Ormos Fikiadha, a bay characterized by a thin strip of sand that joins two portions of land, with the sea on both sides: a perfect setting to instagram. The day here is full of bathing, relaxation, water games and, for those who wish, small explorations on land. The night is spent in the roadstead, sleeping lulled by the light wave of the bay.

Leg 6

Day 6 – Kythnos → Kea

We set sail from Kythnos heading towards the island of Kea. The destination is the bay of Koundouros, famous for its clear waters and a relaxed environment, where you can anchor and spend the night in the roadstead. The evening here invites you to enjoy a slow sunset, with the boat turning golden and the sea mirroring the sky; On board you can organize one last big dinner together, with toasts, music and stories of the week just lived.

Leg 7

Giorno 7 – Kea → Lavrio

The last day includes the return to Lavrio with a stretch of about 12 miles. Sailing to Lavrio is an opportunity for the last edges, the last group photos and maybe a few quieter moments to enjoy the sea and fix memories.

The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions and/or technical or logistical reasons, in order to ensure safety and a pleasant sailing experience for all participants.

A few moments of sailing. Marmaglia is for a party. 10 boats in the fleet is dispersive. Better 3/4 maximum. Better tourists of various nationalities. Very nice crew and moments of real fun. Nice experience overall with dispersive moments.
