This experience, in a nutshell

We leave Salerno immediately after having a briefing and loaded the galley. We will certainly make stops on the way there and back between the Amalfi Coast, Flegree, Pontine and about a week around Northern Sardinia between the archipelago of La Maddalena, Porto Rotondo, Porto Cervo, Poltu Quatu, Golfo Aranci and Baja Sardinia.

The final itinerary can be decided democratically once the final crew has been formed. If we have to add or remove a stage, it is absolutely not a problem. Just stay in harmony and have fun.

N.B. the itinerary is absolutely not contractual, it can be modified by the captain at any time.

Our itinerary

We will sail along the entire Amalfi Coast : Erchie, Cetara, Vietri, Maiori, Minori, Atrani, Ravello, Amalfi, Positano, Li Galli, Furore.

We will stop in some of these wonderful places and if you want you can go ashore. Along the way, we'll come across waterfalls, natural arches, fjords, and other beautiful spots where you can swim. We will also sail along the Sorrento peninsula, with Nerano, Capri and a swim at the Faraglioni.

We will pass between Procida and Ischia so that you can admire the entire Gulf of Naples, Vesuvius from the sea and be able to see and swim in one of these islands. Then we will head for Ventotene, a diving paradise, and Ponza.

From here we will make a night crossing to northern Sardinia. At night you will admire the stars without the light pollution of the cities. Once we arrive in Sardinia, enchanting places await us!

Aeolian seven islands in seven days

Giuseppe is very good as a skipper, unfortunately the itinerary was not complete as described on the site, we were unable to visit Alicudi and Filicudi due to the round trip to/from Salerno, lasting about 20 hours each way, with very high fuel expense and loss of 2 full days in the islands. -------------------------------------------ANSWER FROM SKIPPER GIUSEPPE: Hi Gianluca, first of all thank you for your review, it can be of help to others at their first experience like you. However, I think it is appropriate to clarify a few things. You absolutely did not waste two days, the first crossing lasted 17 hours and was done almost entirely at night, the second, the return one was also done almost entirely at night. So in fact you have "lost" a few hours of the day. I put lost in quotation marks because for many the crossing is perhaps the most beautiful emotion of the whole holiday. Seeing the sunrise, the sunset, the starry sky in the absence of light pollution is priceless for many. Surely you have not read in the description of the holiday that the itinerary depends on the weather conditions, the sea and the crew. The marine weather conditions did not affect the itinerary at all but the crew did. We were not able to see all the islands because you preferred to do something else. Check in was after 1 pm and we left after 6 pm. I also told you to organize yourself first with the galley but you preferred to go to the restaurant and then to do the galley. This made us leave 5 hours late. But then delay compared to what? You simply did what you wanted to do at that moment! Another thing that prevented us from seeing all the 7 islands is the fact that we went dancing every night. Retiring at 3 or 4 in the morning and waking up late as a result took time away from daytime excursions and travel. Unfortunately, Gianluca cannot have his cake and eat it. As for fuel costs, you have remained under the 150/200 euros of extra expenses (fuel, ports and galley) indicated in the ad. Although it is true that this year with skyrocketing prices and the absence of wind we have consumed and spent a little more, this has not exceeded what was budgeted at all. In fact, I repeat, we spent less. In any case, I hope to have brought you closer to the world of sailing, so maybe Alicudi and Filicudi will see them in your next experience. Last but not least, I also recommend that for your next reviews to tell the good things about the holiday not only what is not good for you. For example, you could have shared the video while uncorking the 500 euro bottle of 1967 whiskey you found on board ;-), or you could have mentioned the fact that you saw Punta Licosa in Cilento that was not on the program. P.S. I'll tell you this for your next cruises, always because it's your first experience. Normally the skipper's meals and drinks, even in the restaurant, are the responsibility of the crew. I paid for everything by myself because I don't live on this but if you take another holiday with a skipper who does it for a living, pay him everything. You don't have to pay 10 euros more per day per person, he doesn't have the daily allowance. Fair winds Giuseppe.

Giuseppe is a trained and competent skipper. Safety always comes first. In addition, during the trip he went out of his way to put the participants at ease and meet the different needs. The trip was beautiful. So many miles and so much wonderful sea, which I did not know. I recommend Giuseppe (who today is a dear friend!!!!) and this same itinerary for those who want to know the Aeolian Islands and the coast of northern Sicily.
