To reach the ports, you travel along the highways and state roads of Lazio and Campania; common routes are the SS148 Pontina towards Anzio and Terracina and the A1/SS7 towards Formia; from Naples you use the A1/A3 north-west to get to the ports in the area. Driving times vary according to traffic: from Rome to coastal ports about 1-2 hours, from Naples about 1-2 hours; Short- and long-term parking is available in the port areas, with private options near the boarding terminals.

Reference stations on the mainland: Formia-Gaeta on the Rome-Naples line, Anzio/Nettuno on the branch from Rome and the Priverno-Fossanova station for the Terracina area; regional trains and some Intercity trains connect Roma Termini and Napoli Centrale to these stations. Approximate times: Rome-Formia about 1-1.5 hours, Naples-Formia about 1-1.5 hours; Rome-Anzio about 1-1.5 hours depending on the service. From the stations you can continue by taxi, local bus or transfer to the ports where you can embark for Ponza; Connecting times vary according to the season and the available ferry service.

Nearest airports: Rome Fiumicino (FCO) and Rome Ciampino (CIA), Naples Capodichino (NAP). From the airport you can continue by land to the ports by rental car, taxi, private transfer or by combining train and bus to the stations of Formia, Anzio or Terracina; approximate transfer times: from Rome 1-2 hours to the ports, from Naples 1-2 hours. There are no direct flights to Ponza; The flight connection covers the route to the indicated airports, from where the journey is completed by rail or road to the port of embarkation.

The last stretch to Ponza is made by sea from ports such as Formia, Anzio and Terracina; in some periods connections also depart from Naples or other ports in the region. Services include hydrofoils (fast) and ferries (with freight and passenger transport); approximate durations: Formia-Ponza hydrofoil about 40-70 minutes, Anzio-Ponza about 50-80 minutes, from Terracina and Naples longer times up to 2-3 hours; The traditional ferry takes longer, up to 2-4 hours depending on the route. The trips are operated by regional shipping companies (e.g. Laziomar) and vary in frequency and seasonality; Connections embark passengers at the indicated port terminal.

If all cabins are occupied by guests, the skipper - and any crew members, if applicable - sleep in the dinette.

The skipper helps out, but meal preparation is a shared activity among all participants in the experience.

All participants are responsible for cleaning the common areas on board.

Travelling light is recommended: especially in summer, when you will almost exclusively be wearing swimwear, T-shirts, and shorts on the boat during the day. A sweatshirt and long pants for the evening may be sufficient in the height of summer, while something warmer is preferable in the cooler months, as well as a waterproof windbreaker in case of bad weather or when sailing. Sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun, flip-flops/sandals for going ashore; if you want to wear shoes on board - especially useful when sailing - they must have white soles and be used only on the boat. It may also be useful to bring a small waterproof container for your wallet/cell phone to use when going ashore. For bed linen and towels, please refer to the “What's included” section.

Hair dryers, hair straighteners, and other appliances that operate on 220V (household voltage) can only be used during stops in ports, when a power outlet is available for connection to the electrical grid.

A soft bag is required for transporting luggage, so that it can be easily stowed away. Hard suitcases and trolleys should be avoided, as they are difficult, if not impossible, to stow. A small backpack or beach bag may be useful for shore excursions.

Yes, but outside the boat and downwind, and always with full respect for the other participants. Under no circumstances is it permitted to throw cigarette butts into the sea.

The boat is equipped with both 12V sockets (with USB and/or cigarette lighter connectors) that can normally be used at any time, and 220V sockets that can only be used when docked in ports, once connected to the charging stations on the quay.

We will spend the night moored in a bay or in port, where we will be able to refill our water and/or provisions, as well as enjoy a pleasant evening ashore.
