This experience, in a nutshell

We will depart from Real Marina del Fezzano and in about an hour of navigation we will reach the seaside villages of the Gulf of Poets,  Lerici, Tellaro, and the beautiful Porto Venere with its neighboring islands of Palmaria and Tino. Here, if the weather conditions permit, it will be possible to moor for the night and sleep in the roadstead and then go ashore with the tender.

The following day we will head to the famous 5 terre, beautiful villages perched on the rocks and overlooking the sea, seen from the privileged perspective of the sea.

Continuing the navigation we will reach the Gulf of Tigullio and then reach Sestri Levante where we could also moor at anchor or  find a place in the small port and go  ashore.

The next day we will sail in the Gulf of Tigullio until we reach the prestigious and fascinating town of Portofino and  then we will visit the bay of San Fruttuoso where the statue of the Christ of the Abyss is immersed. Here we could moor the boat to a buoy and we can go ashore to visit  the Benedictine Monastery of the year 1000.

The last night we will spend right in front of the port of Portofino and then the next day, the last day of our holiday, we will return to the Gulf of La Spezia along the outward journey in reverse with new perspectives.

Aperitifs, sunsets and starry  nights are included and  for those who also want  a bit of sailing school...

See you soon and fair winds.

Luciano

Weekend on a sailing boat in the Gulf of La Spezia, departing from Fezzano. Unfortunately, the weather and some organizational aspects limited the experience a bit: the meeting was scheduled in the late afternoon of the first day (4 pm), and Sunday was ruined by rain, so we went out by boat only on Saturday. Communication from the owner and skipper was not very timely (whatsapp group created a few days earlier), and several logistical details were left to the guests, such as the expense for the galley and the management of the sheets. Some practical information, such as bed arrangements or free parking spaces, was not very clear. There were two skippers on board, one of whom was in training. The navigation took place mainly by motor, due to lack of wind and direct indication of the skipper due to difficulty in hoisting the mainsail. The tender was not available, and the fuel tank was filled up on Saturday morning, further postponing the start. The staff proved to be competent from a technical point of view and helpful in answering curiosities about sailing, but less involved in the management of the kitchen. The port is equipped, even if there are no practical solutions to transport food and luggage (there are only wheelbarrows). Traffic in the Gulf of La Spezia is intense, and it takes at least 30 minutes to get out to sea. Overall, neutral experience: some aspects should be improved, but the company on board was the real added value of the weekend!

We enjoyed the experience very much; it was the anniversary gift for our 15 years of marriage and the Skipper very kindly reserved the bow room for us, more comfortable. Dinner, sleeping and waking up in the roadstead was unforgettable. Too bad that due to the absence of wind we did not open the sails ... In any case, experience recommended.
