This experience, in a nutshell

Our secret Dodecanese

We are Annalisa and Emanuel, a couple of skippers who spend six months a year in the Dodecanese, an archipelago of over 163 islands and islets where the beauty of unspoiled nature blends with the richness of Greek culture. Our itineraries are called "Secret Dodecanese" because they are born from the love for these islands and the desire to share their most beautiful and hidden treasures with our guests.

The journey

Driven by the meltemi that blows constantly, we will sail to discover the islands, dropping anchor in enchanting bays with cobalt blue, turquoise, aquamarine green waters where we can take long swims. We will see ancient fortresses and castles, chore from which to admire breathtaking views and white churches clinging to the top of impossible rocks. In the evening, we will greet the sun with a toast and sleep at anchor, under the stars, or in the characteristic village marinas. And, to accompany us, always the smile of the Greeks, "a fazza, a race", because traveling is also about meeting people and finding friends.

Life on board

Barca is synonymous with freedom, so ours are always offered and everyone is free to choose how to spend their time. On board you can participate in the management of the boat, sunbathe, read, chat. There are fins and masks for snorkeling and a dinghy with outboard to reach the beaches or to go ashore and explore the islands. We take care of the preparation of meals on the boat, because in addition to our passion for the sea and sailing, we also like to cook. If anyone shares this passion, they are welcome in the kitchen! Fixing up, on the other hand, is a team game, everyone does their part. Sometimes we will have dinner on land in typical taverns where we can taste the cuisine of the Dodecanese, a treasure trove of Mediterranean flavors with Middle Eastern influences from neighboring Turkey.

itinerary

With the sky always clear and the wind that fills the sails, we will discover the islands of our itinerary. The wind and the sea will show us the best path to follow. With 25-30 knots of wind in the tails or downwind, sailing is a pleasure; If upwind, sailing can become challenging, therefore, itineraries are always at the discretion of the skippers who are responsible for the well-being and safety of the crew. And, by the way, often the best things happen when they are not planned.

Our itinerary

Our trip starts here:

Check-in: 8:00 AM

Our trip ends here:

Kos Town.

Check-out: 9:00 AM

Leg 1

Saturday: Plati and Nera

Departure from Kos Town to the island of Plati, a concentration of Caribbean waters in a few square meters of rock and sand where you can take beautiful baths and walks to explore the attractions of the island (we won't tell you which ones!). We continue to the island of Nera, a private micro-island where Stavros and Evangelia give us permission to moor, beautiful seabed and a wonderful view of the sunset after a small walk on top of the hill. Night at anchor.

Saturday: Plati and Nera

Leg 2

Sunday: Kalymnos

We will head to the island of Telendos, very high rocks overlooking the sea, breathtaking views and small beaches to reach after a nice walk. We will continue to the island of Kalymnos on the west side. We will sail along the west coast of the mythical island of sponge fishermen who since ancient times left every spring amidst many celebrations to go sponge fishing in the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. Today it is a climber's paradise due to the presence of mountains and rock walls overlooking the sea. The final destination of the day is the bay of Emborios with the possibility of dinner on the boat or at the restaurant.

Sunday: Kalymnos

Leg 3

Monday: Leros

This is the most Greek and everyday of the islands, rich in history and tradition. In Porto Lago, modernist architecture projects us into a painting by De Chirico. From the ancient Castro you can enjoy a 360° view of the island, its beautiful bays, windmills, the landscape rich in vegetation to be admired on long walks or mountain bikes. We will visit the fortress and have dinner in the beautiful Pandeli Bay. We will sleep in the Marina in Porto Lago.

Monday: Leros

Leg 4

Tuesday: Patmos

Seen from the sea, the top of the island looks like snow, but it is actually the splendid Chora dominated by the monastery where the apostle St. John wrote the Apocalypse. After an afternoon of sea and sun in one of the beautiful bays of Patmos, dinner awaits us in one of the characteristic places of Chora that at night comes alive with life, colors and flavors. We will sleep at anchor or at the quay of the small port of Skala.

Tuesday: Patmos

Leg 5

Wednesday: Lipsi

Here it is easy to get lost in the wonderful bays and slow living. Lipsi is a small pearl, famous for the beauty of its beaches and almost lush hinterland, dotted with Mediterranean scrub, churches and fields. The harbour full of fishing boats offers a beautiful view of the village with its white and blue houses dominated by the church of San Giovanni teologo. We will continue to Arkangelos, a very small island for swimming, sunset walk, dinner on the boat and night at anchor.

Wednesday: Lipsi

Leg 6

Thursday: Pserimos

We will sail along the east coast of Leros and Kalymnos, making stops for swimming and lunch. We will reach the island of Pserimos, one of the very few islands with sandy beaches. Very small and with less than 50 inhabitants, it boasts a single village and bays with crystal clear waters. We will spend the night at anchor with the possibility of dinner on the boat or at the restaurant in the village that can be reached with a nice walk at night.

Thursday: Pserimos

Leg 7

Friday: Disembarkation in Kos Town

Morning sail back to the ancient port of Kos Town and disembark with the option to visit the old town or the city beaches

Friday: Disembarkation in Kos Town

In breve. Vacanza assolutamente raccomandata!
