This experience, in a nutshell

The Rivage courses are open to all levels.

Crew

On board the same boat, a crew made up of people with different experiences of the sea and sailing. The exchange and sharing of skills becomes essential, both for the performance of manoeuvres, for the smooth running of the boat and in the daily life on board.

On the boat we welcome people of all ages, genders and physical conditions. We want this inclusion because the sea and the practice of sailing is a discipline accessible to all.

An explicit pedagogy

The aim of these courses is to introduce or deepen their knowledge of coastal navigation (i.e. sailing at a visual distance from the coast) and the essential gestures of sailors. From day one, you are involved in the sailing project that we build together around the table based on the weather data, the desires and the experience of the crew members. Everyone in their place and participates at all levels in the smooth running of the boat. It is a pedagogy based on the autonomy and involvement of the trainees in learning how to sail: discovering nautical charts, learning how to choose a good shelter protected from the wind and the sea, knowing how to anchor, hoist the sails and maneuver the boat according to the wind.

Discovering an archipelago off the beaten track, the Egadi Islands Nature Reserve. These 3 islands, Marettimo, Levanzo and Favignana, located in the far west of Sicily, offer an exceptional land and sea landscape. These islands offer for nature lovers magnificent hiking trails, snorkeling dives, a rich culture of more than 2000 years of history and different civilizations, and for the happiness of sailors, an archipelago open to the 4 winds, where the Scirocco and the Mistral blow masterfully.

Discreet and still little colonized by mass tourism, they retain a very authentic charm, inhabited for centuries by bluefin tuna fishermen.

Emmanuelle was fantastic, she was always happy to explain everything I needed. I've gained both a lot of experience and a fantastic new friend. She's really cool. If you want to sit around and be served caviar and champagne find another boat, but if you want to learn to sail, you're in the right place! Thanks Emmanuelle!! ❤️❤️❤️

I spent a very nice week with Emmanuelle aboard Sabir. We discovered the Ionian Islands, alternating technique, nice and varied anchorages and pleasant little dinners in the charming little ports or in small coves of Ithaca and Lefkada. Emmanuelle is very attentive, I recommend.

Great and skilled skipper who is focussed on teaching sailing, building group confidence and communication and experiencing nature. A great alternative to party tourism and luxury cruises - we stayed in wild bays for 6 nights which was extremely relaxing! I started from a level of no experience whatsoever and learned a lot while enjoying the stunning landscape of the Ionian Islands. Emmanuelle was very attentive and flexible to our needs and ideas for the route and also a great company for the trip! It was also particularly amazing as a non-male person to travel with a female skipper of whom there are too few! Highly recommended, already looking forward to our next trip.
