This experience, in a nutshell

A cruise designed in detail to offer guests a holiday of pure pleasure, away from the chaos in places that are still little known and also for this reason of breathtaking beauty. The itinerary is very rich and aims to touch 11 islands and islets: Leros, Kalymnos, Livitha, Lipsi, Makronisi, Patmos, Arki, Marathi, Samos, Agathonisi, and Aspronisi.
The route is specially designed not to challenge the wind, but to enjoy it!

My boat is a fast champion produced by an Italian shipyard (COMAR) that has made history. It is a numbered specimen made 'by hand'. A boat far above the traditional boats used for charter or charter. It is 14 meters long, has 3 cabins and two bathrooms, and is completely finished in teak both inside and out.

A boat born to race and therefore exciting at sea. Comfortable and well equipped for wonderful anchor or buoy stops.

Leg 1

Leros - Isola di Artemide

Arrival in Leros in the same day (on the scheduled dates there is a flight from Athens that takes 50 minutes). You go shopping and get to know each other. You take possession of your cabin and learn how to get around on board. There is time to explore the island with an ebike and visit the castle and the church of Sant'Isidoro built on a rock in the middle of the sea

Leg 2

How to get to the Port in Genoa?

Palionisson Bay is a deep cove just below the head of the dragon of Kalymnos. The landscape is lunar (high, red mountains) and the sea is very clean. In 10 minutes with the tender you can reach a white pebble beach where you will become a child again discovering the underwater fauna and flora. You will swim among millions of fish, you will see a nursery of real sponges but above all on the bottom gigantic sea urchins  with three eyes and spines up to a meter long. Stay away!! In the evening you can dine cheaply in a tavern with home cooking and fresh fish.

Leg 3

The wild island of Levitha

Heading west (towards the Cyclades) about 25 miles from Leros there is an island where you can go to see what nature was like a million years ago. The island is uninhabited. A family guards it and offers mooring and shelter and, if desired, a dinner of fish or meat (the goat is delicious) or homemade cheeses. We then leave Kalimnos early to arrive at our destination by lunchtime. Early riser is optional. Those who want can safely rest in the cabin. Navigation will be fast as the stretch of sea is normally windy and the direction favorable. Once you arrive you can explore the island (with tennis shoes) or explore the shores of the bay where you can see strange and colorful marine animals halfway between fish and ladybugs. Dinner on the boat or in the lovely tavern improvised by the only resident family.

Leg 4

Lipsi: white and light blue

After a good breakfast we leave for Lipsi. The island is in a northeasterly direction and is about 25 miles away. It is also known as the island of the Italians. The small village is simply delightful, especially in the evening. White houses, a church in the middle and pedestrian streets where you can get lost. Before entering the municipal port and mooring, if the weather permits, a short stop in Makronisi is a must for a swim in a place of breathtaking beauty thanks to the high cliffs overlooking the sea. Here there is an underwater passage that is easy to do in apnea, which you follow to enter a salt lake beyond the tunnel.

In the evening, a dinner at Manolis' in Lipsi is a must. Possibly the best restaurant in the archipelago. A word of advice: avoid traditional Greek dishes. He's a real Cheff.

Leg 5

Patmos. The Sacred Island

A short sail will take us to the sacred island in the shape of a seahorse. Stop for a swim in a bay with a sandy beach, then head to the small port of Skala. Patmos is considered the Capri of the Dodecanese and is frequented by sophisticated tourism.

The old town is just beautiful! In Patmos there is the Monastery of St. John, a place capable of giving you feelings of regenerating inner peace. Patmos is a destination for religious pilgrimages for the monastery but especially for the Cave of the Apocalypse, which is the very one there.

Patmos offers many possibilities: beaches, shops with tasteful clothing and accessories, but also a scenic e-bike excursion. You don't always stay overnight in the port as it's on the main road so noisy. If guests don't like to stay for dinner on the island, you can reach a roadstead and sleep in silence.

Leg 6

Arks: MARE BLU!

This small island in the shape of a rabbit is one of the bluest you have ever seen. We will go through the rocks and shallow waters, until we reach a small bay that everyone calls the pools because of its intense blue color! Here you can swim and explore the surroundings with the tender to fill your eyes with a blue that you will remember!

After lunch, we reach a second islet that offers, with a bit of luck, a buoy where you can dock to spend the night. Arki Island also has a pier in the tiny village where there are two taverns.

Leg 7

Samos: Archimedes' Island

A day dedicated to sailing will take us north out of the Docecanese in the Southern Sporades archipelago to Samos. This stretch of sea is ideal for trying out how to steer the boat, take a photo at the helm and learn a bit of sailing theory.

It is usually located in the city port of Pithagoreio, the very city that gave birth to the most hated and loved mathematician of all time.

We moor practically inside the village: three steps and we are in a tavern!

The island is worth a full day stop (on day 8). With a rental car you can explore the island. There is so much to see between the sea, beaches, pine forests, archaeological parks, a Roman aqueduct tunnel, an acropolis... You'll be spoilt for choice.

Leg 8

Agathonisi la bella

In Greek it means beautiful island, and it is no coincidence. Heading SOUTH from Pithagoreio you can reach this small island stuck to the Turkish coast. Here there is a bay famous for the beauty of the seabed. After a long swim and a good pasta on the boat, with a bit of luck and the complicity of the military, the boat rests on the ferry quay. You will then be able to explore the island from land and have dinner in a tavern (practically the only one on the island) that normally offers very fresh fish. Forgot... I call this place the selfie island. I'll have the opportunity to explain why ;-)

Leg 9

Rientro a Leros

Between Agathonisi and Leros the navigation is relatively long but always comfortable due to the strong winds. Halfway along the route there is a large rock (almost a small island) called Aspronisi because of its white color. It was originally as long and flat as the blade of a giant knife planted in the seabed. Time has eroded the central part and opened a passage to the other side that can be walked in the water. A postcard place!!   Return to Leros in the late afternoon

Guido is an experienced skipper that leaves no room for surprises. He's fully proficient using sailing apps for navigation and weather forecast to plan routes and happy to share its knowledge with the crew. He's keeping the boat in immaculate condition for the crew to fully enjoy the time onboard and the sailing experience. I'm happy to have met Guido and the rest of the crew on this occasion and would be more than happy to book sailing with him again.
