This experience, in a nutshell

Sailing to the Aeolian Islands is part of the experience: you become familiar with the boat, you learn to sail together with the crew, with time slowing down. You begin to experience the sea from within, leaving behind the routine and rediscovering the pleasure of simple things and tradition, promoting them and learning to protect them.

The Aeolian Islands are not just islands: they are places that speak to the soul. Seven different sisters, each with their own character, their own energy, their own strength. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, they show themselves in all their wild, authentic and never banal charm. Just like the seven chakras, each one represents an emotion, a vibration, a nuance of the human soul. Visiting these islands is an experience that involves all the senses and leaves a deep mark.

On a boat you live day by day: you explore bays that seem to be designed, snorkel in crystal clear waters, cook together or go ashore for a typical dinner, sleep under the stars or wake up to the sound of the waves. A special balance is created between freedom and sharing, between nature and discovery, and you fall in love.

You don't need to be an expert sailor, you just need to want to be surprised. On board you will find a welcoming and relaxed environment, where you can feel at home even in the middle of the sea. The goal of the experience is to make you live an intense, authentic week, made up of moments that remain. To be part of what nature and traditions offer us, to become a participant and popularizer at the same time.

And when you return, with your face kissed by the sun and your heart full of emotions, you will understand that this was not a holiday, but a journey that leaves a mark. You can say: "I too participated" in an initiative to promote and protect traditions and the environment. Your contribution, paid to be part of it, becomes a concrete gesture in favor of those who love the sea, its beauty and its protection.

The NGO TERRE DI SICILIA TRUST is a non-profit organization that uses the proceeds of the initiatives to promote local traditions, protect the landscape and the environment, protect fish flora and fauna, and raise awareness of the love for what belongs to everyone and must be preserved in the interest of all humanity.

Embarkation and disembarkation will be specifically from Porticello S. Flavia, a town between Palermo and Cefalù.

It is the stop I have always made on the outward journey and instead of doing at least 10-11h. of navigation, you are already at about 6 hours. from Filicudi and thus avoid a long crossing without stopping even on the way back; Porticello S.Flavia, can be reached from Palermo airport; from Palermo you can then take a local train with a stop just 7 minutes from the port in question.

Leg 1

Alicudi and Filicudi

The departure is scheduled from Cala di Palermo to head to Alicudi or Filicudi, the wildest and most unspoiled. In Filicudi you cannot fail to anchor in Pecorini where a rich variety of local dishes will await you on land to represent the best that Sicily has to offer at the table

Leg 2

Salina

Salina, the green island, surprises with its natural elegance and its perfect balance between land and sea. The stacks that rise from the deep blue invite you to unforgettable dives, while the panoramic paths offer spectacular views of vineyards and hills. Its village, well-kept and welcoming, is the perfect place for an evening stroll and an unforgettable granita.

Leg 3

Panarea

Panarea is the island of the contrast between wild nature and social life. Its rocky bays are perfect for suggestive anchorages, while the small white village conquers with its narrow streets, elegant clubs and sparkling atmosphere. Those looking for a touch of glamour will find it here without forcing, immersed in a postcard landscape.

Leg 4

Stromboli

Stromboli is the island of fire and primordial power. Its active volcano, which gives its name to the type of Strombolian eruption, offers unique night shows, especially if experienced from the boat or after a hike to the summit with torches. And then there is Strombolicchio, the mythical rock that stands out against the sky. For those looking for strong emotions, Stromboli is an unforgettable stop.

Leg 5

Lipari

Lipari, the largest of the archipelago, is history, culture and beauty. Its castle has resisted attacks from the sea for centuries, and today offers a spectacular vantage point. The churches, the narrow streets of the center, the roadsteads with clear seabeds and the famous white pumice beach make up a perfect mosaic for those who want to explore, relax and discover.

Leg 6

Volcano

Finally, Vulcan impresses with its magnetic energy and its lunar landscape. The thermal pools, with their sulphurous scent, are a true sensory experience, while the trek to the crater offers one of the most exciting views of the entire archipelago. Going up there and seeing the other islands from a single point is something that remains etched forever.

The destination is an excellent choice to spend a week at sea with unusual scenery. The journey to and from Palermo is not short (8h at least) but above all the return, after getting used to the boat, flows well. It is also the route where there is more chance of meeting dolphins and we have this luck with two young specimens that delighted us with couple jumps. On the boat everything worked and sometimes we enjoyed driving the boat ourselves. the skipper has all the necessary technical skills, it sins a bit "in the field of entertainment" but it is my personal opinion.

It was the first boat experience for the whole group (4 guys) and it couldn't have gone better than this. An unforgettable holiday in a real paradise. Gaetano has always been available and ready to solve any unforeseen event, because several can happen on a boat, but they are part of the adventure. I recommend this wonderful experience to everyone.
