This experience, in a nutshell

Lipari and Vulcano are two volcanic islands that are different from each other, but equally fascinating, where the scent of the Mediterranean accompanies every moment of the day. Between crystal clear waters, jagged coastlines, hidden bays and spectacular coves, time seems to slow down and traditions still retain their most authentic value.

Lipari is the greenest and liveliest island, rich in colors, scents of flowers and breathtaking landscapes. Its thousand-year history tells of the passage of numerous civilizations, from the Neolithic (fifth millennium BC) to the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines and Normans, making it a place full of charm and culture.

Vulcano, on the other hand, has a wilder and more primordial character: here nature is expressed through intense fumarolic activity, sulphurous mud with therapeutic properties and suggestive black sand beaches. Famous for the climb to the crater of the Fossa, the Valley of the Monsters and its thermal waters, the island also retains a small and characteristic village gathered around the marina.

It will be a holiday of relaxation, sea and sun, with the possibility for those who wish to approach sailing and learn the first rudiments of this fascinating sport.

Boarding is scheduled in Porto Pignataro, in Lipari.

After settling on board, we set sail for the first swim at the White Beaches. Here it is easy to swim among numerous fish in a truly evocative setting.

For the night you can choose whether to stay at anchor or return to Porto Pignataro. The evening can continue on board, between relaxation and conviviality, or on land, with a walk along Marina Lunga to the center of Lipari. Among small shops of Aeolian specialties and boutiques, you arrive at the splendid square of Marina Corta, perfect for an aperitif or a typical dinner. Also not to be missed is the fortified citadel, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view.

The second day is dedicated to the discovery of the south-western coast of the island: we sail towards the Faraglioni, imposing and surrounded by an intense blue sea, and then continue towards the Pirate Beach and the Baia della Muria. Here, for those who wish, it is possible to live a unique experience by visiting the hermit's hut.

On the third and last day, we leave early in the morning for Vulcano, to discover the Bay of Cannitello and the suggestive Gelso Beach, characterized by volcanic sand and surrounded by lush Mediterranean vegetation. Here there is also a small restaurant by the sea, perfect for a lunch overlooking the sea (reservations recommended).

Sailing among the Pontines

Luigi is an excellent skipper with extensive experience in sailing and sailing, as well as knowing the Pontine Islands perfectly, always choosing the most suitable place to stop based on sea and weather conditions and safely. It also gave us the opportunity to deepen our knowledge and ability to steer the boat leaving us plenty of space and making us make beautiful sails. The boat is very comfortable, clean and well maintained. Unfortunately due to the weather our holiday lasted about 2 days less than expected, we could not reach Ventotene and we only made a touch in Palmarola. We must also consider that the crossing from Ostia to the Pontine (and vice versa) is quite demanding (about 9 hours), especially if the sea conditions are not optimal. Perhaps it sins a bit in communication, sometimes taking some things for granted, especially at an organizational level or for those who have no experience on the boat.

Recommended experience!! Unforgettable holiday!! Luigi great captain, skipper and sailing instructor, managed all situations safely, despite the wave and strong wind. He transmits the passion for the sea and the world of sailing, available in all explanations, knows the islands and its secrets. Excellent cook engages you with his wonderful tales. The boat is lived,cozy and clean. The trip was wonderful also for the presence of the second skipper super Giangio. The exceptional adventure companions, many emotions experienced together... I can only speak well of the skipper and his deputy Giandrea, friendly and helpful people but above all lovers of the sea. Luigi continuously dispenses sailing lessons and transmits calm even when the weather is not the best! Finally I can say that I did a full immersion of sailing, we really used the engine only when essential, moreover Luigi knows the area well and gave us many tips. I will definitely repeat the experience with them, everything was made unforgettable by a wonderful crew. Alexander
