The days on board are more or less organized as follows: you wake up, have breakfast, those who want to take a first swim of the day, then you sail in search of cetaceans following the itineraries suggested by the experience and instrumentation of the WWF guide. For lunch we stop in a beautiful bay where we can dive , swim, relax and have lunch. Then usually in the afternoon we sail to a bay where we can spend the sunset and the evening, always looking for cetaceans along the way. It will be possible to go ashore in places of interest.

The WWF guide will also be able to propose longer navigations, always with the aim of seeing the cetaceans, also depending on the type of crew on board.

It is very important to consider that any form of program may be subject to change, as it is subject to assessments of weather and sea conditions

As is obvious, it is not possible to guarantee the sighting, although we can proudly say that sightings took place in 100% of the 2023 cruises, both summer and spring. We remind you that research cruises with a WWF guide on board are not just whale watching cruises, but they are experiences that offer a 360° immersion in the world of cetaceans, even with short theoretical lessons, as well as data collection and monitoring. Participating in a WWF research cruise means actively helping research and contributing to the well-being of the planet.

The atmosphere that reigns on the boat is serene and informal and all people will be involved in the activities on board (such as cooking, keeping the boat tidy,..), in order to preserve the spirit of sharing that characterizes this type of holiday. These activities, which are boring at home, will instead be experienced as pleasant moments of conviviality.

The shopping is done directly by the skipper so the crew does not have to worry about doing it upon arrival. The galley on board this boat is 25€ pp/day for breakfast/lunch/dinner/aperitifs and a base of wine and beer. This extra cost is reported in the section "extra costs to be incurred on board".

No, the whole crew (i.e. skipper, WWF guide and in some cases the sailor) do not participate in the expenses on board (galley, ports, fuel), which are shared among the travelers on board.

First time bookers... better stays! For families or groups with a predefined number, cabins will be assigned that are numerically functional (triple, quadruple), obviously based on availability. Therefore, especially for this type of booking , it is advisable to make sure that you have the most suitable accommodation. In general terms, for single bookings, cabin assignment will take place upon boarding. In case of specific needs, however, it is possible to make requests in advance, which will then be evaluated (e.g. preferences for castle vs doubles, physical needs, etc.) and which are usually satisfied, availability permitting.

As a general rule, as the number of places is very limited, children pay the same as adults, especially in high season. In any case , contact the organizer of the experience to check the conditions for the specific holiday you are interested in.

It is possible up to 3 years of age, but it depends a lot on the specific boat and also on the adaptability of the family. The WWF fleet includes boats with both triple and quadruple cabins to accommodate families of any size.

It is essential to leave with a soft bag or backpack, it is not allowed to bring rigid trolleys on board. Once the personal belongings have been placed in the appropriate compartments, the duffel bag will be folded and stored, so as not to take up space. It is good to think that, as far as summer holidays are concerned, on a boat you need very few items: swimsuits, summer clothes, a couple of outfits to go ashore, some warmer clothes for the evening and windy days, a light windproof jacket, flip-flops and shoes to go down to port. For cruises in periods other than summer , it is good to bring warm clothes, windproof oilskin, light-soled shoes to keep on while sailing, a hat and neck warmer for those who suffer from the cold. Don't forget: mobile phone charge from car or USB, fins and mask, 50+ sunscreen, shampoo and "marine" shower gel (you can also find it online), intimate wipes. Essential to bring on board: enthusiasm and desire to have fun!

The port of Talamone, in the province of Grosseto, is located 4km from the train station, there is a connection with a bus at certain times of the day. 

The nearest airports are Pisa and Rome.

Talamone is a very quiet town, you can leave your car in the free parking lots along the roads near the port, even in high season.

Bed linen and towels are not provided on board this boat. For the summer season, it is advisable to bring a sheet to cover the mattress, one to cover yourself and the pillowcase, or a sleeping bag (the "light cousin" of the sleeping bag) and the pillowcase. For the spring season, a sleeping bag and pillowcase are recommended.

Yes, since the skipper is an ASD holder, each participant is required to pay, directly upon boarding, €15 for the membership fee and to present a medical certificate for non-competitive sporting activity.
