Pontine Islands
Italy
Travellers of all ages are welcome!
This experience is almost confirmed
8 spots available
The Pontine islands have kept their typically Mediterranean charm unchanged with multicolored volcanic rocks, jagged coasts and transparent and deep waters. Little inhabited during the year, but not in the summer when they are the destination of many tourists attracted by exclusive locations.
The reduced distance from each other and from the coast makes these islands an ideal destination for a weekend on a sailing boat.
The depths are of a variety and beauty never seen before: a show for those who are passionate about diving.
During the weekend we will be able to: try a small restaurant in the port and taste typical Ponzese dishes such as spaghetti with fellone crab and cianfotta; visit the characteristic houses dug into the rock of Palmarola, inhabited only in the summer; discover beaches, caves and cliffs accessible only from the sea.
Day 1, Friday:
We meet again on the boat for a short briefing and after having done a minimum of galley we leave for Palmarola , defined by Jacques Cousteau as the most beautiful island in the Mediterranean .
We will drop anchor in one of the beautiful bays, to wake up the following morning in what many call a true paradise.
Day 2, Saturday:
After an energetic breakfast we will go to see the Grotte di Mezzogiorno .
In the afternoon we move towards Ponza with the possibility of going ashore for an aperitif with a sea view .
Day 3, Sunday:
After spending the night anchored in some beautiful bay, such as Cala di Lucia Rosa or at the Natural Arch , we will stop at the Cathedrals of Palmarola , a place that leaves anyone breathless with its charm.
In the early afternoon we return to Nettuno.
For more information do not hesitate to contact me.
The program may vary according to the weather and the needs of the crew.

The boat is a Bavaria 50 Cruiser from 2008, I immediately fell in love with this boat as soon as I saw it.
Very comfortable and spacious with all the main comforts, with a large awning to shelter from the sun during the day.
Inside it has 4 cabins, so divided into 1 very large master cabin forward, 2 double aft cabins and a cabin with bunk beds. (All cabins have a 12 V socket to charge cell phones)
It has 3 bathrooms, all with 220 V socket to use the phono, electric toilets, showers and hot water sufficient for all.
A large dinette with TV, stereo, 2-burner stove, an oven and two fridges
Fast and comfortable, also suitable for learning the basics and starting to sail.
Equipped with rullaranda, genova and gennaker
Two water tanks which in total make 900 liters
A large tender of 3.10 m, with a 5 hp engine that can comfortably accommodate up to 9 people
A Sup for those who want to keep fit and an inflatable mattress for those who want to relax.

How do I get to the port of embarkation?
It is possible to arrive at the marina of Nettuno both by train and by car.
By train it is very convenient as the station is just a 5-minute walk from the marina.
By car, you can leave your luggage unloaded right in front of the boat and park your car either inside the marina at a cost of €15 a day, or alternatively just outside the marina at a cost of €6 a day, or even in a free car park at minutes from the marina.
What to bring?
– Soft luggage and without wheels
– Enough underwear for vacation days
– 2-3 bathing suits
– 1 UV protective snorkel shirt
– 3-4 shirts and shorts
– 1 long trousers and 2 Bermuda shorts for men
– 1 long trousers and 2 comfortable dresses for women
– 1 sweatshirt or wool sweater for the evening
– 1 Kway or light waxed
– hat or cap
- Sun glasses
– 1 pair of boat shoes with clear soles
– 1 pair of flip flops
– 1 pair of sandals or shoes to go ashore
– 1 guest towel and a beach towel
– medicines for personal use
– biodegradable shampoo and shower gel
How is the galley organized?
For the galley I normally share a list if someone has special needs they can add it or alternatively get it at the marina discount.
Can children go on board?
Children are welcome on board, but they must respect common sense rules for the well-being of the entire crew.
What is the rate of the double cabin for single use?
The rate varies according to the period, in the low season it is normally free, in the high season it can cost 50% more up to 100% more.
Who cooks on board?
On board, we all take care of the kitchen together. A spirit of collaboration also means this. The skipper (Alberto) really likes to cook and sometimes he'll take care of preparing something especially for dinner, when the guests are enjoying the sunset in the bay at anchor. Then there will be those who will prepare the table, who will help in the kitchen and who will prepare the aperitif!
Do I need to have sailing experience to participate?
This experience is suitable for everyone, both for those who have no sailing experience, but also for those who have already had other experiences, the boat is very comfortable and it is also possible to learn the basics, the skipper will always be available to provide explanations and entice participants to love the sea and this magical world of sailing.
How will the experience take place in case of rain?
In case of rain you can plan to go ashore to see the town or stay on the boat organizing board games.
