Taking advantage of the long Easter weekend we will take you to discover the Pontine Islands: Ponza and Palmarola . Sailing aboard a 14mt sailboat we will take the first swims of the season in the crystalline waters of these still wild and uncontaminated islands. We will be able to explore their coasts, beaches and caves. Having aperitifs under the stars, cooking rich lunches and dinners and exploring its seaside villages, trying some local specialties in a small restaurant in the port. On the boat we will share the experience between sailing, chatting, music and joy! The boat is a 'little world unto itself' where great bonds of friendship can be created in just a few days. It could also be an opportunity for those who want to learn the basics of sailing by helping the skipper in the management. What are you waiting for? Come on board with us! Good wind.
ITINERARY
Friday After a short briefing and the galley (shopping) in the local supermarket, we will set sail for Palmarola, an island that Jacques Cousteau defines as the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. We will be able to have dinner during the trip and whoever wants to help the skipper in running the boat. We will arrive at night, just in time for the first 'midnight swim'.
Saturday We will drop anchor before dawn and, when everyone has woken up, we will have breakfast in one of the picturesque bays of the island. We will spend the day sailing between the bays and making stops. It will be possible to go down to the beach with the tender. Before sunset we could decide to drop anchor in Cala del Porto or on the east side of the island with a splendid view of Ponza. We'll cook a succulent dinner to enjoy under the stars We'll sleep in the harbor, at anchor.
Sunday After the night at anchor and a rich Easter breakfast, on Sunday we will steer towards Ponza and dedicate ourselves to discovering the island. In the evening we will enter the port for a trendy aperitif or dinner in one of the small restaurants overlooking the port. Following evening in Ponza We will spend the night moored in the port.
Monday In the morning of Easter Monday, after a breakfast of puff pastry and croissants with cream, we will sail to other bays of Ponza to then get closer to Palmarola and visit its famous Cathedrals, a series of narrow caves overlooking the sea. At lunchtime we will leave again in the direction of Nettuno, where we will return at 6-7pm. Greetings, group photo and disembarkation.
NB : this is a general itinerary, the choice of places to drop anchor is always subject to weather and sea conditions, which is why an exact list of the bays we will visit is not made. We are also a group that shares an experience whereby together we will decide if and when to have meals on board or on land.
We will sail aboard a 14.20m Bavaria 46 from 2005 equipped with 4 cabins (three doubles and one with bunk beds) and 2 bathrooms

Other important information
How do I get to the port of embarkation?
The marina of Nettuno can be easily reached by train from Rome Termini (a little more than 1h of travel and the station is a 5' walk from the marina) or by car (about 80KM) with parking available in the marina itself (€15 per day ) or nearby. For the return, the trains from Nettuno to Rome are available until 21.56
What to bring on board?
- Soft and light luggage (easily stored in the cabin lockers). No rigid trolleys. - Comfortable shoes if possible with white soles. - A windproof jacket or k-way - Sleeping bag if you are sensitive to the cold - Anti-UV shirt or snorkel suit - Masks and snorkel - Costumes - Slippers - Biodegradable shampoo and shower gel - Want to have fun and be together
How is the galley organized?
The expense for the galley will be divided among the participants (skipper excluded). I will offer you a list of things to buy which, in case of need, can be modified. We will decide whether to buy food and drinks first
Are children and teenagers accepted on board?
Always welcome, also because my 9 and 12 year olds will be with me! They have already sometimes accompanied me in my summer seasons and will give us a hand in the maneuvers and in preparing the aperitifs! From experience I can say that I have seen apparently heterogeneous crews 'work' very well, with people of different ages and cultures, as well as groups of peers. The boat is a bit of a 'world unto itself' where everything fits perfectly in a sharing perspective.
Who cooks on board?
We cook, we prepare the table and we all settle together. The spirit of sharing on a boat is essential. And it's one of the reasons why strong bonds are created between perfect strangers in a short time.
Do I need to have sailing experience to participate?
Absolutely not! But if you want to learn the basics of sailing, the skipper will be happy to let you participate.
How will the experience take place in case of rain?
In case of rain we will be able to spend more time on land, eating, drinking and chatting below deck or in the cockpit sheltered by the awning.
