review about Ponza, Palmarola, Ventotene, Ischia and Procida ... 5 islands in 7 days September 2022
with Leonardo R. 65 years old
We offer a week of sea and sailing in the splendid Pontine islands in the name of relaxation, tanning, swimming in the crystal clear water, aperitifs at sunset ... but also navigation, life experience on board and fun in contact with the nature!
We will discover the islands moving slowly from one bay to another, between short sailings, excursions with the tender, snorkelling in the most suggestive spots; in the evening we will often go ashore to immerse ourselves in the liveliness of Ponza Porto or to savor the more intimate atmosphere of Ventotene .
There will be two of us on board, Elena and I and we will do everything to make you spend an unforgettable week!
Holiday programme
Saturday : boarding will take place in the early afternoon. After arranging the galley and taking possession of the cabins, we will set sail for the islands which we will reach after about 4 and a half hours of navigation. Usually you stay overnight at anchor in Palmarola under an incredibly starry sky.
Sunday : as soon as you wake up you will be enchanted by the Caribbean colors of the water which will become more and more intense as the sun rises; in the afternoon we will move to Cala del Francese , on the west side of the island where at sunset (like every evening) we will enjoy the inevitable aperitif!
Monday: we will complete the tour of Palmarola by anchoring in the suggestive Cala Tramontana and then near the Faraglioni di Mezzogiorno , in an area with truly breathtaking landscapes! In the late afternoon we will move to Ponza Porto (45 minutes of navigation) to go ashore for dinner or after dinner.
Tuesday : we will visit the bays on the west side of the island such as Chiaia di Luna and the caves of Capo Bianco (incredibly suggestive to cross with the tender), the pools of Cala Feola , the stacks of Lucia Rosa: in each bay we will stop to swimming, snorkelling, discovering the most hidden corners with the tender and having fun with the Sup. Dinner at anchor or in the port according to your preference.
Wednesday: we will move to Ventotene (3 and a half hours of navigation), a very beautiful island and different from the others with which, however, it has in common the extreme transparency of the water! We will spend the night in the suggestive Porto Romano to visit the characteristic village.
Thursday : we will return to Ponza to visit the east side of the island ( Cala dell'Arco, Cala del Core, Frontone ) with an overnight stay at anchor in Ponza Porto , so that we can go ashore for dinner or after dinner.
Friday morning: swim and relax in Ponza; after lunch it will be time to return to the port of Nettuno, where we will spend the last night.
Disembarkation is scheduled for Saturday morning at 9 am.
The program described may vary depending on the weather conditions and your preferences: from experience, I can tell you that it is preferable to enjoy your holiday without too rigid plans ... following the wind and the sensations that gradually arise during the trip.

The "Jeanneau 53" is part of Jeanneau's top-of-the-range line called "Yacht" which differs from the traditional "Sun Odyssey" line.
It is a splendid boat, over 16 meters long and 4.80 meters wide, with a weight of 15 tons, 5 of which are located in the bulb, with a generous sail plan and clean water lines.
These characteristics give her marine qualities which also translate into comfort during navigation and stability at anchor.
The powerful 110 hp engine allows you to move easily at 8kn, shortening travel times while the generous sail plan allows you to grind miles without realizing it.
The Jeanneau 53 falls into the Blu Water Cruiser category, i.e. those boats suitable for long-range navigation around the world.
It has 5 cabins (one of which is reserved for the crew) and three bathrooms.
The first thing that strikes you when you get on board is the size of the cockpit: wide, very long, welcoming, with cushions everywhere, ideal for sharing moments of conviviality, aperitifs, dinners.
Moving forward along the teak deck, one is amazed by the huge spaces available for sunbathing.
Going below deck you can appreciate the large dimensions of the saloon, with the elegant facing sofas, the table, the large C-shaped galley with a three-burner kitchenette and espresso coffee machine, many drawers and closets: lots of space that guarantees comfort and privacy.
There are two guest cabins in the bow, with en-suite bathrooms, and two larger ones in the stern. The third head, larger than those forward, is located on the port side of the saloon. Each cabin is equipped with USB sockets.
The finishes are elegant, in line with the Jeanneau Yacht style.
The water tanks have a capacity of one thousand liters allowing for a "relaxed" consumption of water during normal cruises.
The tender, essential equipment for enjoying the holiday, is a Highfield 310 with an aluminum hull.

How to reach the port:
The tourist port of Nettuno is a few hundred meters from the Nettuno railway station: from Rome Termini the train takes about 70 minutes every hour.
bring soft bags so that they can be folded and stowed more easily (no trolley).
What to bring:
On the boat, clothes are rarely used: bring shorts, swimsuits and T-shirts, a light sweatshirt, a windproof jacket, slippers or sandals, clothes for the evening if you intend to go down; don't forget sunscreen, sunglasses, beach towel and face/hand towels.
Instead, you will find sheets and pillowcases on board.
Here are the details of the extra expenses to be incurred during a two or three night holiday:
Sheets: €20/cabin
membership card: 15€/each person
Fuel: according to consumption (average 150€ total) to be divided among the guests
Galley (i.e. the shopping for meals on board): it is managed in the common fund by the guests.
Ports: there are no stops in ports
