Travellers of all ages are welcome!
This holiday is fully booked!
Boarding is scheduled on Saturday evening from 19:00 with dinner ashore in a local restaurant.
We will leave the port the next morning.
The arrival in the port of unloading is scheduled for the following Friday afternoon, no later than 18:00 and with disembarkation by 9:00 on Saturday morning.
Every day we will sail for a few hours, mainly in the morning and in some cases also in the afternoon to reach different bays and ravines , to discover anchorages sheltered from the Mistral wind which usually rules this area.
In every bay where we will anchor, you will be able to see traces of history left here by the Punics, Phoenicians and Romans who lived on these coasts, sharing the land with the native Nuragic civilizations. The coasts are often surrounded by fortifications and turrets, built by the local inhabitants to live and to defend themselves from the attacks of pirates who have tried to plunder the coastal riches over the centuries.
Here is our itinerary which will take place every other week from Cagliari to Carloforte and vice versa , to allow you to savor the emotions of your cruise to the fullest, calmly and without unnecessary repetitions.
On the first day, after a pleasant navigation, Capo di Pula will be the first bay where we will anchor, departing from Cagliari. We will find ourselves exactly on the east or west side of the Archaeological Area of Nora (depending on the wind of the moment), one of the best preserved historical sites in Sardinia. The remains of the Phoenician Punic Roman town of Pula extend over the isthmus marked by a beautiful watchtower and can be perfectly admired from the sea. For those who wish, a visit to the Archaeological area may be possible.
From Capo di Pula we will sail along the coast of Chia , towards Porto Malfatano (called "port" because in ancient times it was a Roman port of which some underwater ruins can be glimpsed). We will stop in front of the beautiful small beach of Su Giudeu. For those who wish, a walk will allow you to reach the lighthouse of Capo Spartivento on foot, from where you have a fantastic view of the gulf below.
As soon as we rounded Capo Spartivento, with the imposing lighthouse visible from a good distance, we could choose between different anchorages: Tuaredda island, Porto Malfatano, Sa' Perda Longa . All bays with crystal clear water and white beaches that allow relaxing baths. The choice will be bound by the direction and strength of the present wind. After a quiet night, you can wake up to the sunrise, to the song of the seagulls that nest right on the islet of Tuaredda.
We continue our holiday, after the usual morning breakfast, as soon as we leave Porto Malfatano and around the Cape of the same name with the Spanish tower, the Gulf of Teulada opens up. A place rich in natural beauty, with beaches and bays that are excellent for a swim or for spending the night: the beach of Piscinni, Isola Rossa and/or a stop in the safe port of Teulada. For lovers of good food, in the evening we can enjoy a typical SARDINIAN DINNER from the land , in a splendid farmhouse in the hinterland (reachable by transfer in a few kilometers from the port).
Continuing to sail westward, in front of our bow you can glimpse the profile of the southernmost cape of Sardinia, i.e. "Capo Teulada". With its 600 meters high and a rocky conformation with a thousand shades overlooking an intense blue sea ; it is also known as the "Capo Horn of Sardinia". In this place sea and wind meet coming from different directions and thanks to the height of the cape and the depth of the sea, they always create particular wind conditions, which we can sail pleasantly enchanted by the majesty of the place!
Beyond the cape, another gulf opens up before us with innumerable inlets, some rocky, others surrounded by very white beaches, others still covered with the native pines of this part of Sardinia. We are in the “ Gulf of Palmas ”, between the extreme southwest coast of Sardinia (Capo Teulada) and the southeast tip of the island of Sant'Antioco (Capo Sperone). This delightful gulf has several places where it will be possible to anchor for a swim or stop for the night. They are the splendid dunes of Porto Pino to the east (close to the east) or the bay of Coaquaddus, Torre Cannai or Capo Sperone to the west (close to the west).
We will then continue rounding Capo Sperone, the southern point of Sant'Antioco leaving to our left the islets of Vacca, Vitello and that of Toro. A little further on we will begin to glimpse the westernmost island of Sardinia, the island of San Pietro . We will make some stops and anchor between the west coast of Sant'Antioco and the south east coast of S. Pietro, before reaching the characteristic and beautiful little port that distinguishes the main village of the island of San Pietro, " Carloforte ". Taking the time to rent a scooter or bicycle and spend part of the day discovering the island is certainly an experience not to be missed. With its hinterland covered by the typical Mediterranean scrub and the numerous beaches of which those windward of the Mistral wind are difficult to access by boat. With its wild nature , with the ponds and salt pans full of flamingos and other endemic species (for birdwatchers) and with its Ancient Tonnare rich in popular history, the island of San Pietro is a magical place where you can live unique and exciting moments. The view of the sunset from the Capo Sandalo lighthouse, the westernmost lighthouse in Italy, is splendid, with only the sea beyond the horizon for 260 miles, up to the Balearic Islands.
For lovers of good food, in the evening we will enjoy a TYPICAL SEA DINNER in a characteristic restaurant on the island .
We remind you that in this corner of Sardinia we speak Genoese, a somewhat archaic Genoese, but still well defined today, due to the "Pegliese" origins of the inhabitants of Carloforte, who moved here to expand the fishing areas, in the past centuries. Even the local cuisine, like its inhabitants, is subtly influenced by the Ligurian cuisine, but pleasantly combined with the main ingredient of the place, the "bluefin tuna" which is caught in abundance especially in June, during the periodic passage of the tuna in this part of the Mediterranean.
It is precisely the peculiarity of a sailing boat holiday, the possibility of living each day spent on board in a varied and always exciting way, with the wind, the sun and the sea that will guide us and accompany our deeds, which from good sailors we will know how to accept its message, so that we can always choose where and how to best open our sails, or where to anchor safely. Both for short stops, for a lunch or for a swim, or extended ones in order to be able to spend a peaceful night, with only the sound of the sea, illuminated by the moon or the stars. Then being able to wake up with the mere thought of diving into the sea before starting the morning on board our boat, together with its crew with whom we can then share a new exciting day of sun, sea, sailing and pleasant company.
Your holiday begins as soon as you set foot on board our boat, both in Cagliari and in Carloforte, from where we will set sail every other week.
