Being my first sailing trip, I didn't know that the experience — both the trip and the itinerary — could depend on how much the group, and the people individually, were liked or appropriate to the skipper. Yet, it seems that this is exactly what happened.
I say this not only because it was my personal impression, but because unfortunately it is what the group experienced, so much so that it became a central theme during our many discussions during the trip.
After an exciting start, to say the least, the skipper showed a growing indisposition and disinterest in the group. Communication has progressively worsened, which has surprised and confused everyone, generating discomfort and perplexity even among people who are very experienced in sailing trips. For the information communicated — or more often not communicated — we have often felt mocked.
Surely there were several things, individual or group (including mine), that would have tired the skipper. However, at times it seemed that we were not the ones who were not adequate for the experience of sailing trips. Which, in my opinion, a professional should not let transpire or at least not like this, even if that boat is "your home" and in particular seen after all we were in fact good, shrewd and respectful. Each with its own flaws but in short, if these were the problems.
From the first meeting at the port of Olbia, the skipper told us about his recent negative experience with customers from the previous week, who had abandoned the boat in less than 24 hours due to the presence of a mouse on board. He also mentioned a former client of his — defined by him as a "psychopath" (his words) — who had drawn up a list of the galley useful for us to help us do the shopping. In short, we were told how wrong the customers were.
The boat is undoubtedly beautiful and well cared for: really nothing to say. Sincere congratulations, the skipper keeps it in excellent condition and perhaps in the end the only thing he really cared about was the maintenance of the boat rather than the protection of the crew.
Perhaps also for this reason, several members of the group (including me, who by the way am the least experienced person in boat trips and a bit clumsy) have been reprimanded several times - for reasons that are also understandable but always with inappropriate tones (see other reviews).
I was once reprimanded for taking up too much space on the table — which may be true, as I am rather corpulent — but the manners were exaggerated, especially considering that the people next to me were absolutely quiet. The skipper justified his behavior by saying that it is to 'take care of the well-being of the crew'... Will.

Many things have been handled with indifference or communicated ambiguously, such as the question of the galley. Although it is not the direct responsibility of the skipper, the organization was taken over by a girl who was also present the previous week and who had known Gianluca for years who assigned herself the task of doing the shopping for everyone.
We could have interpreted it as a gesture of kindness and support in the management of the boat, but the fact that despite repeated requests he did not want to share the famous list, was experienced as the first of the topics on which "we could not discuss".
In the end I went shopping with her myself and only at the very last minute — at my umpteenth request, the list was finally shared. Despite the fact that he had justified this with a: "if everyone then asks for his things, we will never get out of it".
Incredible but true, the galley was still miscalculated, despite the fact that I had communicated it during the shopping, thus forcing us to do a second shopping in an expensive supermarket in Corsica. Also in that case, the blame fell on the group with the phrase: "eat too much".
I will eat a lot and we have all eaten a lot but everyone said that they had never been in such a situation. An "excuse me" would have been the least and although this thing was not the direct cause of the skipper, the ambiguity with which the thing was delegated is.
To those who have not participated in the trip, these may seem only marginal issues, subjective opinions, or overcomeable misunderstandings. Perhaps they would be, if at least the heart of the experience — that is, the itinerary — had been respected.
After a day and a half spent visiting rather secondary beaches of Sardinia, we ended up directly in Corsica, where we stayed until the end of the trip.
The skipper never clearly communicated to us that, due to the weather, it would be impossible to return to Sardinia before Friday or Saturday. We could have decided together what to do—but of course that didn't happen.
There are various other aspects that could be mentioned. Including the lack of support for people who could have been taken to the beach by tender, the choice of beaches in Corsica and the choice to take us back to Olbia at 3 in the afternoon, leaving us in fact 24 hours and more uselessly at the port, wasting a day, behind the scuss of bad weather that never arrived. In everyone's opinion, the skipper couldn't wait to leave us in port.
I hope that this review will serve Gianluca to make some reflection and to understand that on the other hand there are money, energy, time, personal expectations spent on this trip that must still be respected given the number of bad reviews that have been taken in line. I am deeply convinced and I say it sincerely that if and when he wants he can be a great expert, a great professional. An absolutely experienced person.
If this is not the case, I wait for a prompt response to my review as I already see others have done.
Luckily the group was nice and we had fun. Corsica is beautiful, I will come back to see Sardinia again.
