THE ITINERARY
The itinerary will be characterized not only by the fantastic and evocative feast of the Redeemer that we will see on Saturday evening, visiting less touristy places in the Venice lagoon , places full of poetry often little known ..
Weather permitting, in fact, we will move forward thanks to the low draft of the boats in generally difficult or even unreachable places for sailing boats with which we usually visit the lagoon ..
We will in fact pass from the islands of Mazzorbo and Mazzorbetto for a quick visit of the island and the places where (yes) wine from Venice is produced, to then visit the splendid city of Burano animated by its colors and its history ..
We will also visit the beautiful island of San Francesco del Deserto and the peace of this place where the friars of the order of San Francesco D 'Assisi still live, who stopped here to pray and reflect on their return from the East.
Depending on how much time we like to spend on these destinations, we will add to the itinerary if possible some other little gem if you don't prefer to relax instead somewhere to enjoy some typical Venetian snifters while sipping some wine shadow.
THE HISTORY OF THE SHADOW OF WINE The "shadow of wine" is nothing but a glass of wine .. to enter a little in the climate of the lagoon, I leave you the history of this name here ...
"This curious way of calling it has its roots in the symbolic place of Venice: Piazza San Marco. As can be seen in several old prints and paintings, in the past the square was packed with many stalls, usually arranged around the base of the bell tower of San Marco: junk dealers, bakers, spezieri, wine shops etc ...
The Piazza was therefore the ideal place for meetings and talk, usually accompanied by a good glass of wine.
The wine mixers therefore had a lot of work and in order not to ruin the precious liquid and keep it always fresh despite the heat that sometimes suffocated the city, they went around with their stall around the
Bell tower, chasing its shadow as the sun moved. The wine, to be good, had to remain in the shade and so the glass of wine remained forever ... the shadow. "
