¡Gracias, Olivier!

7 reasons to choose Brittany and Normandy for your next sailboat cruise:

  • A playground well known to sailors, ideal for getting started or progressing in your sailing
  • The unusual and changing landscapes with the rhythm of the tides and the whims of the weather give it an unbeatable charm
  • The vegetation is particularly rich and the many varieties of flowers colour the wild landscape
  • Many picturesque sites to discover: megaliths, typical ports, old lighthouses, castles...
  • Bretons are welcoming people, who will simply make you have a good time. Breton folklore is particularly famous
  • There are numerous beautiful islands at sea that give Brittany an exotic feel
  • Finally, gourmands will not be outdone, between seafood, pancakes and galettes, shortbread, kouign amann, salted butter caramels...

The best places to visit on your next cruise to Brittany or Normandy on a sailing boat:

This region of France holds both beautiful natural areas, characterful towns, beautiful beaches and historic monuments. As a bonus, fresh and healthy air, a gentle way of life and the warmth of the inhabitants will make your stay unforgettable! Sailing is particularly suitable for visiting Brittany: there is almost always wind. It is a well-known playground for sailors, ideal for learning to sail or progressing in your sailing practice. Brittany is full of countless cruising grounds, allowing travellers to discover totally new scenery and to be disoriented at every stopover.

The Glénan Archipelago

This string of islands located in the Bay of Biscay is a little paradise. A dozen islands, translucent water, a clear blue lagoon, heavenly beaches with sparkling white sand, unspoiled nature. During a cruise in the Glénan you will almost feel like in the Caribbean!

The Gulf of Morbihan

With its many islands and islets, its microclimate that warms the sea and its gentle way of life, the Gulf of Morbihan offers sublime landscapes to discover under sail. You will appreciate its natural and cultural heritage.

Belle-île

No other place bears its name better than Belle-île. Indeed, the largest of the Breton islands will not leave you indifferent. This paradise island has managed to keep its authenticity. To the west, don't miss the small village of Sauzon, its charming houses with colourful facades as well as the picturesque lighthouse at the entrance to the port.

The island of Bréhat

Tranquil and colourful, the island of Bréhat is also known as the island of flowers. Its microclimate has allowed hydrangeas, fig trees and eucalyptus to embellish its valleys. Here cars have been banished to give its heritage every opportunity to express itself, so it's the perfect place for a stroll on land.

Ploumanac'h

Sercq is an island out of time. Here no cars but bicycles and horse-drawn carriages will make you discover unforgettable landscapes on the small paths lined with low stone walls and wild flowers that cross the island. Small bays, cliffs and creeks... The exceptional coastline of this archipelago is an invitation to discover a preserved nature.

Saint-Malo

Saint-Malo owes its majestic silhouette to the thick granite ramparts that have protected it since the 12th century. Intra-muros, the lively cobbled streets are full of good restaurants. The tall mansions, rebuilt after the bombing of the second war, make us forget the world outside the walls of the corsair city.

Everything you need to know about your next cruise to Brittany or Normandy on a sailing boat:

  • The best time to take a sailboat cruise in Brittany & Normandy is from May to September.
  • On the budget side, depending on the type of boat, the level of service on board and the period, you can count on around 500€ for a week with skipper and 180€ for two days.
  • There are many alternatives to reach the port of embarkation. Train, car and plane are available depending on where you leave from.
  • If you can't decide between the North or South of Brittany for your next sailboat cruise, take the tour!

The best itineraries for your next sailboat cruise in Brittany & Normandy with skipper:

  • One week cruise in South Brittany: departing from Lorient head south towards the island of Groix, then continue to Belle-île where you can stop at Sauzon, before heading east the next day to reach the island of Houat and then Quiberon Bay. Return to Belle-Ile, this time on the wild south coast, and then head for Port Nicolas in Groix and continue to Concarneau Bay. After a stopover in Bénodet, you can reach the fabulous Glénan archipelago before returning to Lorient.
  • One week cruise in North Brittany: from the Emerald Coast to the Golden Belt, via the Goëlo Coast and the Pink Granite Coast. Discover vast coastal areas very wild: fine sandy beaches, rocks sculpted by the elements, grass dunes, turquoise water ...
  • Three-day cruise in the Gulf of Morbihan: a very famous body of water. Sheltered from the ocean, this "little sea" as its name in Breton indicates is made up of 42 islands, mostly private, from the largest - Ile aux Moines - to the island of Arz, through the island Ilur.
  • Four days to visit the Channel Islands: from Granville or Saint-Malo cast off and cross the Channel to the English coast towards the Channel Islands. Only a few hours sailing from France, discover Jersey, Guernsey and Sarcq or Alderney.
  • A few days in the Iroise Sea: sail around the Pointe du Raz in the Iroise Sea. The Iroise Sea (in the west of Brittany), with the Rade de Brest, Camaret and its Bay, its string of islands, (including Ouessant), Morgat and its Bay, Douarnenez... is a superb sailing area.
