This experience, in a nutshell

First day: San Vincenzo -> Macinaggio

Boarding is scheduled at 17:00 at the port of San Vincenzo . We get the galley, we prepare for the trip with a first briefing on the program and we will get to know all the crew. If the weather conditions allow it, we will leave immediately towards Corsica so as to enjoy a quiet navigation at night until we arrive in Macinaggio, a small village born on the shores of the sea, where we will spend the first night moored in the port to leave after a rich breakfast, towards Ile Rousse.

Second day: Ile Rousse

After sailing on the crystalline waters of the gulfs of the north coast, we will arrive at Ile Rousse , a fabulous promontory of red porphyry lying on the sea, the red pearl of the Balagne. The history of this island is closely linked to that of Calvi . The city, which has come down to the present day, has a very long history of wars and dominions since the 3/4 century. Born from the will of Pasquale Paoli , the father of the Corsican nation in the eighteenth century, to oppose the city of Calvi and the Genoese dominion in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Having become the main commercial port, it was called the " Paolina city ". The streets around the covered market are the real lung of the city, a neighborhood made up of small lively and colorful alleys, where you can take a walk, visit the many shops to discover all the local regional products.

Third day: Calvi

A fundamental stop on this trip will be Calvi , a city built on the San Francesco point between the gulf of Revellata and the gulf of the same name. For a long time this city was divided into two districts: the Upper city with the Citadel , and the Lower city with the Marina . The Citadel is the true historical center of the city, built in 1600 by the Genoese. We will go ashore to enjoy the narrow alleys with houses still inhabited, stone floors and blue and blue windows that characterize this reality rich in history and legends, a reality that bears the sign of time and the sea air that contribute to making this almost magical and timeless place.

Fourth day: Lozari, Desert des Agriates and Golfo di Ostriconi

Today we visit the pristine beaches of Lozari, up to the Gulf of Ostriconi and the Desert des Agriates . This paradise of very fine sand with a Caribbean appearance is the result of the "hard work" of the streams coming from the inland mountains of Corsica . They reach an altitude of 2710 meters with Mount Cinto , the roof of the island. The landing point in front of the Agriates desert is this splendid white sand beach called Ostriconi.

Fifth day: Saleccia and San Florant

Today we visit the unspoiled beach of Saleccia, an expanse of white sand and turquoise waters where we can spend the day in the harbor. The sailing continues to Saint Florant , a small but beautiful town, with restaurants hidden in the coves to the north. Here it is worth paying a visit ashore and then deciding whether to stop at the port to have dinner in one of the Corsican restaurants, or dine on board and then go down with the tender and enjoy the evening ashore.

Sixth day: Centuri

We are in Centuri , a charming little fishing port. Here the sunsets have magical sceneries. In this small harbor-casket, full of small characteristic restaurants, you can taste the best lobsters in the world. It is also worth going ashore to taste the typical Pietra chestnut beer. Stopping in Centuri is possible with good weather conditions, which generally assist us. We are looking for a sheltered place to be able to enjoy yet another night under the stars ... before the last sail to Capraia for the return to Italy.

Seventh day: Capraia

In the morning we will head towards Italy. Along the way we will aim the bow towards our last destination of this fabulous holiday, Capraia . We will take the opportunity to take a dip in Cala Rossa, a fantastic spot on the island where you can enjoy the spectacle of the scarlet red rock wall and immerse yourself in the crystalline waters of the sea. In the afternoon we will moor in the port and we will be able to go ashore to experience all that this splendid Tuscan island has to give. The wild beauty of the island is made even more vivid by the red color of the volcanic rocks, which are thrown into the sea. We will spend the night on board and get ready to celebrate the last night of this unforgettable holiday!

Eighth day: San Vincenzo

After having breakfast and saying goodbye to Capraia , we will set sail for the last sailing to return to San Vincenzo. Disembarkation is expected in the early afternoon, in the same port of embarkation of departure.

Northern Corsica: the sailing wonder!

09/2/2023

Barbara M.

The holiday was not up to the lavish expense (1039 + galley + ports) and the behavior of the skipper was unacceptable: I was attacked with swear words on the third day stopped in port for having asked for information on what to do. Arriving on the first evening, the skipper informs you that due to the weather you are not going to North Corsica. We think for the first few days, then the weather improves and yet we stay between the south-east of Elba and Capraia. He could make up for it by having us do numerous coves a day or the entire Tuscan coast, but the skipper didn't want to do much, he often slept or stayed in a room with his escort. I've never seen a skipper who takes the best room in the bow for himself, letting the payers sleep outside because of the heat, or in the dinette, since the rooms at the stern were hot and noisy. The roadstead holiday was therefore more in port. Never done so few boat baths. Finally, the indicated age for which I had chosen the 30-50 trip was fake, it was 41-68.

Simply extraordinary, a connoisseur of the places, the wind, the sea. But there is something greater than the sea, which few have: a beautiful Soul. And that of Francis shines through in every gesture, in every smile, in every silence listening to his wind. Thank you for everything Conandante.
