This experience, in a nutshell

Our cruise will start in Rhodes, one of the most beautiful and vibrant islands in Greece.

Embarkation will be in the capital and will be an opportunity to visit the ancient city of Rhodes, historically famous for the Colossus of Rhodes. Since 1100 the island was ruled by the most influential families in the Dodecanese of the Republic of Genoa.

In its large historic center you can still breathe the atmosphere created by the knights who took refuge there after the Crusades from 1309 until 1522. A visit to the perfectly preserved walls, the Palace of the Grand Master, the Street of the Knights, the Mandraki port are not to be missed.

The mosques of Suleiman and Ibrahim Pasha reveal the Turkish imprint, the result of a long domination.

Leaving the mooring, after 3 hours of navigation, we will land in the bay of Lindos, dominated by the delightful and ancient (4 thousand years of history!) town that will enchant you with its imposing acropolis and white houses that descend to the magnificent natural harbor.

Once the sails have been unfurled, we will leave for Kastellorizo. After skirting the islet of Nisis Ro, we will land on the easternmost island of Greece, the location of the film "Mediterraneo".

Since then, the village, with its colorful houses, lively alleys, has remained almost intact, preserving the crystal clear sea and the great charm of a borderland with Turkey, which the mosque on the seafront still testifies.

The town is built all around a horseshoe-shaped bay where we can moor.

At the end of a short navigation, we will stop in the roadstead in front of the islet of Agios Georgos, The day will end with the exploration of the blue cave which can be accessed by swimming or by tender. Almost invisible from the outside, once you pass the entrance, it opens into a large cavity. The water amazes with its intense tones of cobalt blue that have nothing to envy to those of the homonymous cave in Capri.

Skirting the beautiful Turkish coast we will arrive in Oludeniz where we will spend the night in one of the beautiful bays of Kalevezi Koyu.

After crossing the beautiful gulf and exploring the bays of Fethiye we will arrive in the beautiful bay of Ekincik Koiu, where we will leave the boat to go up the lagoon and the river to the town of Dalyan, dominated by the huge, incredible ancient tombs carved into the rock, aboard a small private boat.

In the hinterland of Kalkan we will explore the ancient Roman city of Caunos, where the ancient and imposing amphitheater of Patara is located and you can enjoy a wonderful view of the river, the lagoon, the nearby lake and the gulf.

Back on the coast, we can swim with the turtles that lay their eggs in the beautiful and long stretch of sand that closes the lagoon.

Starting from there we will meet a series of bays, one more beautiful and spectacular than the other, many surrounded by rich vegetation that reaches the sea.

A nice sail and here we are again in sight of Rhodes!

Great sailing from Athens to Mykonos in the Cyclades

Riccardo is a good person but the boat was not prepared to welcome guests, particularly in terms of cleanliness and order. Some episodes, which by an expert person should and could have been predicted and dealt with calmly, generated unnecessary anxiety (lack of fuel in the tender, staysail rigged at the last minute in critical circumstances, disorderly mooring and unmooring maneuvers, instructions to the crew not given sufficiently in advance and clarity, etc.). A general perception of approximation has generated a feeling of insecurity and discomfort which has unfortunately negatively affected the serenity and enjoyment of the holiday.

Great sailing from Athens to Mykonos in the Cyclades

I participated in a week on a sailing boat with high expectations, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing in many ways. First of all, the spaces on board were extremely limited: I had to sleep outside every night due to the lack of comfort inside and I was not the only one to do so. In addition, the boat turned out to be quite dirty and poorly maintained, which negatively affected the stay. The skipper, although probably with years of navigation behind him, seemed to me not very suitable for this type of experience. In addition to obvious communication difficulties (he often did not hear), he completely lacked initiative. He seemed more on vacation than us: he didn't help with daily activities, and in general he didn't make himself useful, behaving more like a guest than like a person on board. From a technical point of view, I didn't feel particularly confident. The skipper, in my opinion, no longer had the physical strength necessary to manage the maneuvers: in seven days we opened the sails only twice, and always with great caution, out of fear. On a sailing holiday, you would expect to... sail. A real shame, because the company and the sea were wonderful. But with different and more professional management, the experience could have been totally different. I hope that the organization will think seriously about these aspects.

Athens, Delphi, Patras and the excitement of the Corinth Canal

The trip was very nice, we were able to visit Delphi which for me was the best part of the trip. Riccardo is a good person and a good sailor, but he hardly speaks English or French, which was a problem when it came to communicating with us and with the marinas. He could not understand his instructions and became very nervous when performing the maneuvers. I should have specified that you need some experience to travel with him. He gets very nervous and starts shouting in Italian. He is quite old, I think he would have to sail alone in Italy, which is his comfort zone. The boat is small ideal for 4. To be honest, I don't think I'll travel with him again. But Greece is wonderful
