Getting to the Ionian Islands is quite easy, by plane to Preveza or by ship to Igoumenitsa.
The difficulty is to leave after you have visited them, and given their colors: the white of the beaches, the green of the olive trees; having heard their sounds: the chirping of cicadas, and the sound of the sirtaki being danced in all the taverns.

And the emotions they give you will be priceless!

If you arrive by plane in Preveza it is worth visiting the town, the other possible port of embarkation (this by ship) is Igoumenitsa.
The island of Paxos is 25 miles from Corfu (12 if you arrive by boat in Igoumenitsa).
Paxos and Antipaxos are two splendid islands that cannot be missed.

Thirty miles further south, we arrive at Lefkada and here the beauty begins.
Because closed between Lefkada , Ithaca and Kefalonia there is the so-called inland sea, a huge sea area dotted with islets, where the wind is always friendly, and where there are dozens of splendid coves (all with an inexpensive Greek restaurant where basically the sirtaki is danced).

How to describe the port of Ithaca or that of Fiscardo ? And the islet of Skorpio , refuge of the magnate Onassis, or that of Meganisi ?
In the inland sea all distances are very short (10 miles maximum) and so you can decide every day how to move based on your liking, without problems of rough seas or headwinds.
