To reach Lipari by car it is necessary to drive to the ports of embarkation on the Sicilian coast: the main one is the port of Milazzo; seasonal alternatives can be the ports of Palermo and Naples for direct connections. Approximately from Catania the road trip to Milazzo takes about 1 hour 30-2 h, from Messina 40-60 minutes and from Palermo 3-3 h 30; Times vary depending on traffic. Vehicles can be embarked on ferries from lines that provide car transport; The island itself cannot be reached by road.

The reference station is Milazzo Station; from Messina regional trains connect Milazzo in about 30-50 minutes, from Catania the connection via Messina generally takes 1 h 30-2 h in total and from Palermo the journey, with change in Messina, can take 3-4 hours. From Milazzo station to the port the distance is short and taxis and local connections are available; Train timetables and ferry connections vary depending on the season.

The nearest airports are Catania-Fontanarossa (CTA) and, to a lesser extent, Palermo-Falcone and Borsellino (PMO); Catania is the most used option for connections with land connections to Milazzo, with road transfers of about 1 hour 30-2 hours by car or bus. Once embarked and settled in the cabin there will be a short organizational briefing after which, once the common fund has been made, together with the skipper you will go to buy the galley. The galley will then be delivered directly to the boat.

The skipper helps out, but meal preparation is a shared activity among all participants in the experience.

Since we will be surfing more than usual and even at night, in addition to the recommendations that you find in the following lines, remember a warm sweatshirt, a waterproof jacket (or waxed, even better) and a warm cap. Especially in summer, swimsuits, T-shirts and shorts are almost exclusively used on the boat during the day. A sweatshirt and long pants for the evening may be sufficient in the middle of summer, something heavier is preferable in the cooler months, as well as a waterproof windbreaker in case of disrupted weather or while sailing. On the boat there are 12v sockets (with USB connection, two sockets in each cabin plus a double in the dinette and another double socket outside, in the cockpit) that can normally be used at any time. The 220v sockets can only be used during stops in ports, once connected to the quayside charging stations.
