This experience, in a nutshell

Ten nights away from winter, between tropical islands, turquoise seas and new friendships. 2027 begins on board. This year we leave coats and dinners in the city for a New Year's Eve catamaran between Martinique and the Grenadines: palm trees instead of fir trees, turquoise water under the bow and an island to discover on the horizon. We set off in a flotilla for ten nights of sea, adventure and new friendships, including baths, sunsets and a countdown to live together. You bring the costume. We take care of the rest of the crew.

There are places where you just have to look around to forget what month it is. Palm trees, transparent sea and summer air: in the Lesser Antilles, winter seems very far away. For ten nights we leave it behind, with a boat as a home and a crew to get to know.

On board our three Lagoon 42 catamarans, the holiday follows the rhythm of the sea: breakfast in the cockpit, sailing, swimming and stops that get longer. There are those who enjoy the sun, those who lend a hand to the skipper and those who have their mask ready. The view changes, the beauty of being together remains.

The Pitons of Saint Lucia rise from the sea like two green giants; among the Grenadines, light sand, palm trees, turquoise bays, volcanic coasts and small villages await us. In Mayreau, Salt Whistle Bay is a crescent moon to be enjoyed barefoot. At the Tobago Cays, between lagoons and coral reefs, just put on a mask and fins to change the world: fish, colorful seabeds and, with a little luck, turtles in their environment. Between one swim and another, there is time for a walk or simply to enjoy the view from the catamaran.

But above all, it is a flotilla to be experienced: preparing a dinner together, meeting up with crews for an aperitif, going down to the villages and tasting Caribbean flavors. Set off alone, as a couple or with friends: on board there is room for new stories to share.

And on New Year's Eve? The route points to the Tobago Cays to say goodbye to 2026, after a day of sea and snorkeling. A toast under the stars and the first day of the year with the swimsuit still on.

There will also be crossings of several hours: the pleasure of sailing and a bit of spirit of adventure are part of the trip. Stages and activities may vary depending on weather, local formalities and skippers' assessments. Encounters with wildlife are not guaranteed.

Leg 1

Day 1

Bequia, the entrance to the Grenadines

The longest sail takes us to Admiralty Bay. We get off at Port Elizabeth, stroll on the Belmont Walkway and enjoy an evening on land in the relaxed atmosphere of Bequia.

Leg 4

Day 4

Mayreau and Salt Whistle Bay

White sand, palm trees and transparent water in one of the most beautiful bays in the Grenadines. Snorkeling, relaxation and climb to the village for the sunset view.

Leg 5

Day 5

Tobago Cays, New Year's Eve in the blue

Inside Horseshoe Reef, turquoise lagoons, turtles in Baradal and snorkeling await us. For those who want, diving and diving baptism. In the evening we say goodbye to 2026 at the Tobago Cays.

Leg 6

Day 6

Petit Tabac and Chatham Bay

By tender we reach Petit Tabac, the small island made famous by Pirates of the Caribbean. Then we move to the wild Chatham Bay, on Union Island, between snorkeling, diving and kite possibilities.

Leg 7

Day 7

Mopion, Clifton and Happy Island

Disembarkation at Mopion, a tiny white sandbar in the middle of the reef, then heading towards Clifton Harbour. At sunset aperitif on Happy Island among shells, Rum Punch and kitesurfers.

Leg 8

Day 8

Route to Saint Vincent

The ascent to the north begins. We reach Wallilabou Bay or Cumberland Bay, between volcanic coasts, dark mountains and tropical vegetation.

Leg 9

Day 9

Saint Lucia and Marigot Bay

We cross the channel again towards Saint Lucia and find refuge in Marigot Bay, squeezed between hills and mangroves, with the water calm as a mirror.

Leg 10

Day 10

Return to Martinique and final party

Last ocean crossing to Le Marin. We return to the marina and enjoy the last evening all together between toasts and travel stories.

Leg 11

Day 11

Greetings and return to the flight

Last breakfast with the crew, luggage and hugs before the transfer to the airport. The question is only one: when will we start again?

Marmaglia Discovery Flotilla to the Cyclades Islands in Greece

First experience on a sailing boat: a nice adventure with some ideas for improvement Since this is my first time on a sailing boat, the final balance is certainly positive. It was an enriching experience and the group turned out to be very pleasant, although there are some aspects that could make the trip even more comfortable and inclusive for the participants. Value of experience and galley management: The overall cost was a bit high compared to the services included. ( at the time of booking it must be specified that in addition to the initial expense there are other expenses, this has not been specified. For example.. fuel, water supply galley starter pack..... this is specified only once you have booked) Being at the first experience, we would have liked to have had extra support from the skipper or in any case from the organizational group at the time of the initial expense: a little advice to optimize the galley and avoid the superfluous (perhaps buying the rest gradually in the ports) would have been really useful. ( example once the excel has been filled in, the organizers with more experience than us can remove what seems extra to them ... instead of "scolding" each other because we did our own thing. Involvement in maneuvers: It is good to warn and know that it is an active holiday: even without any previous experience, you get involved and there is an absolute need to help the skipper during maneuvers and navigation, which makes you feel part of the crew but you need to be educated just in case. Group and fleet dynamics: Over half of the group already knew each other, and for those who struggle a little more to integrate or leave alone, this can create a small initial obstacle. To facilitate friendships, it would be great if the organization included more moments of sharing between the three boats, perhaps supporting them during the afternoon stops and not just the two evenings of sharing to really make the experience live as one big group. A trip that leaves a good memory and that I would do again, with the hope that these suggestions can help the organization to make the experience even more welcoming for future participants.

Marmaglia weaves similar ropes that can immediately be easily joined with a flat knot and at the end of the holiday, despite feeling a tangle of emotions, they realize that in the end they have formed a lasting knot like the lover's soda. The organization has been attentive to every detail and has been ready to update the itinerary based on the weather forecast, allowing us to experience a holiday in complete safety away from summer storms. All the staff of Marmaglia has always been ready to handle every little unforeseen event and has allowed us to experience a 10/10 holiday! Yes, you leave as strangers and you come back that you have become part of a family! Thank you Marmaglia! See you soon ☺️

Unfortunately due to Meltemi we had to totally change the initial itinerary by falling back on the Saronic islands, consequently we did not see the Cyclades at all. Apart from this inconvenience all good!
