This experience, in a nutshell

Departure from Marina di Portisco, in the heart of the Costa Smeralda, aboard a comfortable and spacious 14-meter Bavaria 46, equipped with all the ideal equipment for a cruise. The journey begins with a first taste of elite Sardinia, between crystal clear waters and breathtaking landscapes.

We will sail through the islands of the Maddalena Park, exploring Spargi, Budelli, Caprera, Santa Maria and La Maddalena. This extraordinary archipelago offers an incredible sea where the pink of the granites blends with the transparent blue of the water. There will be stops at anchor to enjoy relaxation or in the characteristic ports of the archipelago.

We will continue with a sail to Corsica, exploring the smaller islands of Lavezzi and Cavallo, fascinating natural sculptures of pink granite framed by white beaches. The trip includes a visit to Bonifacio, a picturesque port nestled in a fjord, famous for its mysterious charm and the legendary Strait of Bonifacio, a stretch of windy sea full of emotions.

The route will then lead us to the Asinara National Park, an unspoiled island shrouded in mystery, where time seems to have stopped 150 years ago. Thanks to the limited number of boats and the strict rules of environmental protection, this unique place remains an oasis of peace even in high season. Here we will have the opportunity to discover rare species of Mediterranean flora and fauna and to immerse ourselves in the complex and fascinating history of the island, surrounded by amazing natural beauty.

The holiday will end with disembarkation in Porto Torres, a lively and well-connected location, perfect for returning or continuing the discovery of Sardinia.

On board you will be accompanied by me or one of my collaborators: an experienced skipper, FIV offshore sailing instructor, ready to offer you a unique experience.

Our itinerary

Boarding in Portisco Costa Smeralda on Bavaria 46 cruiser to sail to the Maddalena archipelago and then Corsica and its smaller islands such as Lavezzi and Cavallo and stop at the port of Bonfacio. From here we will head towards the Asinara natural park where we will stop at least two nights and arrive in Porto Torres.

The experience overall was good! It would have been appreciated, though, if I had been informed somewhat in advance that I was the only one who wasn’t Italian, and with the change of skipper, nobody involved with the boat spoke a word of English. Only the “guests” did, which was of course great as they kindly translated things for me, but it still made the situation uncomfortable. Since everyone naturally spoke the same language, all conversations were in Italian - which I understand but unless I asked for a translation, I didn’t really know what was happening and I was naturally excluded from conversations which wasn’t the best feeling. It also felt a bit strange to be regulated on when we were allowed to use the bathroom or take a shower (mostly never). As a first-timer on a boat, I was also a little shocked that, due to the bad weather, we almost had to pay an extra €500 on top of the original fees just to stay in the harbour and for food. I understand the food part, but a heads-up beforehand would have been really helpful, especially that in case of bad weather, nothing is included in the price and everything extra has to be paid separately on top. That being said, everyone was very kind and there were no issues otherwise.

Although the weather was not the best, the experience was overall positive between the excellent company we were lucky enough to find and the evocative places visited. Our skipper Manuel stood out for his friendliness, patience and attention to everyone's needs, We had a lot of fun!

The cruise with Federico was spectacular! He welcomed us with great availability and made us feel at ease from the first moment. We sailed a lot, as soon as possible sailing with only the sound of the wind. We always felt calm and safe thanks to the skipper's great experience and his constant attention to every detail. His knowledge of the places allowed us to explore beautiful places. To this must be added that he cooks very well! If you are lucky enough to have Emanuele, his son, on the boat, the company will be enriched by a young boy full of intelligence and positive energy! We got off the boat reluctantly and we can't wait to be able to do more miles on the beautiful [hidden]!
