A week of slow sailing in the South of Sardinia

A week of slow navigation, following the sea and the wind, alternating anchorages in the roadstead with evenings in the ports. A journey to discover Sardinia from the sea, but also through shore excursions, to explore the nature and culture of its southern side.

Among the possible stops are Cagliari, the capital of the island; the salt pans of the Molentargius Regional Natural Park, famous for the presence of pink flamingos; the Giara di Gesturi, a plateau that is home to the last wild horses in Europe, the famous Giara horses; the Marine Park of Villasimius; the sand dunes of Porto Pino; numerous coves, beaches and small coastal villages; and the Island of San Pietro, where the characteristic dialect of Ligurian origin is still spoken.

We will meet a Sardinia made up of unspoiled nature and extraordinary landscapes, but also more controversial realities, such as the large military base of Teulada, often at the center of the debate for its possible environmental repercussions. We will remain at a distance, but we will have the opportunity to deepen its history and problems.

It is not guaranteed that you will reach all the destinations indicated, as the route will be defined according to sea and wind conditions. Our goal is to privilege, as far as possible, sailing.

On board we love good food. We mainly cook fresh fish, cheeses and local vegetables, enhancing local products, but we also like to stop and taste the local cuisine in the restaurants and villages we will visit. In the galley you will find, in moderate quantities, quality local wine and beer; On the other hand, there are no spirits.

Boarding is scheduled in Cagliari. The disembarkation could take place in a neighboring port, in any case easily connected to the capital.

With our boat we sail mainly between Lampedusa and Linosa, but every year we organize an exploration trip to new destinations. This year our itinerary takes us first to Sicily and then to the South of Sardinia. Although we have already sailed several times along the Sardinian coasts, we do not call ourselves experts in the area: we are above all people who love the sea, travel and meeting different places and cultures.
