This experience, in a nutshell

Called Transatlantic or Transat, join the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, a crewed Atlantic crossing on board our 21m monohulls, from Las Palmas on the island of Gran Canaria. Canary.

A transat à l'anglaise! <
As the organization explains, "Our definition of a rally is safe and social cruising. We offer an element of fun competition, but it is not a race! ". This crossing of the Atlantic welcomes nearly 200 sailboats with amateur crews and professionals who will head for Saint Lucia in the Caribbean.

The crew of the boat for this navigation is composed of 2 professional sailors, graduated Merchant Marine and State Certificate, accompanied by 10 paying members. This is a committed crossing where everyone participates in the smooth running of the ship and not a cruise.
As a teammate, you will be subjected to navigation shifts, about 8 hours a day, but also to shifts of quarter, kitchen, dishes, weather ... Our ships do not voluntarily use no pilot, nor of rewinders . It is, indeed, one of the best ways to discover the deep-sea navigation. You may have to endure bad weather, cold early, heat then ... So you need to be psychologically ready to participate in a deckchair.
A departure from the Canaries on November 24
As of November 17, the boat must be present in the port of Las Palmas to live a week of festivities before the big jump! Each year, nearly 1800 crew members of 20 different nationalities board for the Atlantic Rallye for Cruisers ... People like you: some have just retired, others a sabbatical or a month of vacation to try the adventure!

We provide 20 days for the crossing of the Atlantic, but it may be faster depending on weather conditions encountered. The trade wind is not always established from the Canary Islands. he sometimes asks to make a first route south, towards Cape Verde, to go to seek it with a greater distance to go.
