We find ourselves around 30 November in Las Palmas for the departure of the ARC 2017: we will be there and leave for the Cape Verde Islands at the same time.
After being known, briefing and galley we will head for the Cape Verde island. The project is to continue later to land on the Brazilian coast.
A minimum of marine experience and footprint is required. Each crew member is required to observe, as far as possible, navigation shifts, both day and night. No particular sail skills are required but a transat requires both physical and psychological effort, not indifferent.
The year 1990 was launched at the Genoa boat show by the shipyard Comar of Forlì the Genesis 43. A hull that was immediately innovative for the design and construction choices. Boat performance as safe and stable, studio Vallicelli, the Genesis 43 is an elegant boat of 13.5 meters with two comfortable double cabins, a double cabin for singles and a large dinette with kitchen, two bathrooms and an efficient sails. The boat will follow us for most of our offshore sailing, the rig is optimized to Cutter, and many details make it a modern, environmentally friendly and self-sufficient energetically and particularly robust boat with great stability of course. The sails are: dacron mainsail, denoon genoa, regatta genoa, extra dacron genoa, removable dacron tormentina, removable spinnaker, nylon spinnaker. Anchoring and services: still main delta 18 kg with 75mt of 10mm chain; still secondary bruce 15 kg with 15 m of 10 mm chain; dinghy boat with 4t 2.5hp outboard motor; 450 liters of drinking water; 200 lt of fuel; oceanic raft 8posti airmar; sat tv antenna; wifi on board; aft bimini for support of two Solbian solar panels. Instrumentation: raymarine st60 and tridata st60; pilot st7000; internal chart plotter with external gps; extra gps; radar; vhf dsc icom; EPIRB; personal plb; nmea wifi system for the use of portable chart plotters with ipad invax with Mediterranean cartography; ais nasa wifi with dedicated antenna.

USE OF SWEET WATER
I consider a liter and a half per day per person of drinking water in the water, plus the freshwater tanks used to wash and cook. For personal hygiene I fill each one a bottle of 1 liter and a half of tanks water.
I try to give suggestions to who prepares the bag to embark on the crossing
