Typical program of a 7-day course:
(provided for information only and may be subject to change depending on weather conditions and on the decision of the skipper)
Departing from Bormes-les-Mimosas, you first familiarize yourself with the sailboat and its basic settings, then head for the island of Embiez , an internationally renowned site for yachtsmen and divers! After a night at anchor, you will sail to Bandol, then La Ciotat, and drop anchor near the Calanques de Cassis : Port Miou, Port Pin, and the most beautiful Calanque d'En Vau. Located furthest to the West, it is a long corridor with translucent waters bordered by high cliffs where a few pines cling. In the background, a pebble beach and curious stone chimneys sculpted by erosion form a grandiose setting.
The night spent at anchor you will then head for Marseille, more precisely on the Frioul archipelago composed of four islands theater of exceptional fauna and flora, ideal destination for lovers of nature, history, walks unusual and snorkeling.
We will rather drop our anchor in the cove of Morgiret which opens to the west of Ratonneau, between the Pointe du Soldat and the islet of Eyglaudes. Surrounded by steep and high rocks, this very wild haven offers excellent protection from the east wind. There is a slipway for disembarking in the dinghy at the bottom of the cove and easy access to the Lazaret marina.
Riou Island is the largest and highest of the islands that overflow the coast of the Calanques. The stone needles at its summit reach almost 200 meters. The cove of Monasterio is one of the few places to stop over.
The navigation will then set off again towards the East with a possible stop in the calanque of Figuerolles, which looks like a smugglers' den and located at the foot of the vertiginous Bec de l'Aigle, then head for the magnificent islands of Hyères: Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant, also called Golden Islands.
Continuing the navigation still further east, you will reach the pretty port of Saint-Tropez, Cannes and the Lérins Islands.
Facing the bay of Cannes and the Estérel massif, the Lérins Islands Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, an archipelago of legends.
Between each stopover you maneuver the Pogo 12.50 under the advice of your state-certified instructor who will guide you in your actions in order to acquire autonomy at each position.
You perfect your skills in navigation techniques on a nautical chart with a bearing compass, Cras ruler and dry point compass, but also by using the on-board navigation software.
If the weather permits, you will leave for a crossing to Corsica counting a total of twenty hours. We will have to organize night shifts to keep an eye on the road while being assisted by the AIS on board our Pogo. For your quarter, with a little luck you will come across playful dolphins and, who knows, a whale, more precisely one of the fin whales present in the northern third of Corsica.

MEALS ON BOARD
You can arrive with a specialty from your region if you wish and you will refuel all together the first evening or the next morning, then top up as needed during stopovers.
It is customary for the skipper's food to be taken care of by the crew, do not hesitate to choose what to cook a dish that you master or that you wish to share.
There is a gas oven, two burners, pots, pans and everything you need for a cordon bleu... what is certain is that eating and drinking well is essential for the smooth running of a boat!
BOARD BOX
We estimate the costs of on-board cash register at around 10€/day/person (excluding food, around 15€/day, bars and restaurants, if any) including stopover costs and fuel for the inboard engine (plan for extra cash ), cash box which will be managed by the skipper or by one of you.
EQUIPMENT
For this course, we recommend that you bring the following equipment in addition to standard clothing:
- waxed or windproof
- closed shoes (sneakers or tennis shoes with white soles)
- sunscreen with the highest index, sunglasses
- lightweight sleeping bag
- toiletries, small synthetic bath towel
- Earplugs (the presence of a snorer on board can happen;)
- Swimsuit (or even snorkel fins!)
Bottom sheets, pillowcases, kitchen towels, and end-of-course interior cleaning are provided.
For people prone to motion sickness provide a box of Mercalm or Scopoderm type patches, but don't forget the 4 F rule which reduces the risk of nausea: don't be hungry, cold, scared and tired.
COVID-19
The Covid-19 period imposes hygiene rules on us with the implementation of barrier gestures and in particular physical distancing, regular cleaning of hands, and regular health checks during the cruise.
