review about Sailing course on the French Riviera May 2023
with Cyril V. 56 years old
The raw beauty of the Mediterranean , an exceptional climate in summer, moderate winds allowing very pleasant navigation, a warm and translucent sea, white sandy beaches, make the Côte d'Azur an exceptional place. Sailing there is a permanent pleasure and the best way to visit wild places away from mass tourism.
Departing from Saint Mandrier , we will sail between Cap Sicié and Cap Taillat , stopping for the time of an anchorage, depending on the weather, in the magnificent islands of Porquerolles and Port Cros , at Cap de Bregançon and on the peninsula of Gien. We will sail every day, from wild anchorage to wild anchorage, to help you discover the richness and diversity of this wild part of the Côte d'Azur.
We only welcome on board a maximum of 4 people in order to offer you the most comfort possible. To accommodate you, we have two large double cabins and a single cabin. We will share common areas. The large teak deck, very comfortable, will allow you to indulge in contemplative idleness, reading and tanning.
During your cruise, if you wish, Cyril will teach you the basics of the art of sailing, and will make you participate in the maneuvers. He can also introduce you to snorkeling and apnea . A 2-seater kayak , a paddle and a large tender will be at your disposal to go for a walk along the coast and to go ashore.
Depending on the wind and your sailing preferences, we would like to share with you the following anchorages:
The Port of Saint Mandrier
Our port of departure and arrival. Away from the major tourist centers of the Côte d'Azur, Saint Mandrier is a very charming port located in the center of the town. This place is ideal for stocking up and giving you time to moor a little before you start your cruise.
The Bay of Langoustiers in Porquerolles
A real postcard setting. A superb wild anchorage bordered by a magnificent white sand beach, a translucent sea, hundreds of fish, an ideal place to explore the West of the island on foot, a magical place to contemplate the sunset.
The Silver Beach in Porquerolles
One of the most beautiful beaches on the island, very fine, very white sand, a magnificent pine forest along the beach. Located about twenty minutes on foot from the village of Porquerolles, this anchorage is ideal for discovering the charm of the capital of the island, its cultural offer and its many restaurants.
Courtade Bay in Porquerolles
A magnificent place to indulge in the pleasures of swimming. A transparent sea resting on an immaculate bottom of fine sand. A beach lined with eucalyptus trees for basking and sunbathing. A superb playground for playing Frisbee.
Anse de la Galère in Porquerolles
One of the most beautiful and wildest anchorages on the island. A rocky coast conducive to exploring the seabed while snorkeling. Three small charming beaches provide access to paths criss-crossing the east of the island.
Port Man Bay in Port Cros
The wildest and most spectacular anchorage in Port Cros, a breathtaking panorama. Magnificent deserted coves surrounded by rocks and pine forests. Sand paths along the coast allow you to explore the east of the island. An ideal place for kayaking.
Cape Taillat
A very wild place offering two excellent anchorages on each side of the isthmus of the peninsula. A great site for snorkeling. A very pretty walk on land on the rocky massif constituting the cape.
Cap de Bregançon
Splendid beaches along an uncrowded coastline. A grandiose panorama embracing the harbor of Hyères, the Fort de Bregançon and Porquerolles.
The peninsula of Gien
Very wild anchorages in the heart of the pine forest. Omnipresent cicadas. Spectacular walks on the paths crossing the peninsula. An ideal place for kayaking.
Cape Sicie
A majestic promontory of schists dominating the crystal clear sea, an arid and impressive landscape hemmed with almost deserted beaches, a magnificent view of the peninsula of Gien and Porquerolles.
See you soon aboard our magnificent sailboat!

We invite you to board our magnificent 15-meter wooden ketch, very comfortable both at sea and at anchor, equipped to ensure that navigation is done in total safety.
It has been completely refurbished and modernized in recent years in order to benefit from all modern comforts. Solar panels and a wind turbine provide
completely ecological electric autonomy.
Spacious and very well equipped, it has, to accommodate you, two large double cabins and a single cabin, a large saloon, a real kitchen, a bathroom and plenty of storage space. Outside, its spacious cockpit will accommodate our aperitifs and our meals. Its superb teak deck allows the practice of many activities (dance, Yoga, Qi Gong, reading, tanning, ...).
To get to land and to walk along the coast, a very large tender, a two-seater kayak and a paddle will be at your disposal.

Don't forget to bring t-shirts, shorts, swimsuits, light sweater, windbreaker if you have one, fins, mask and snorkel if you have them, cap or hat, sunscreen, sunglasses.
If you are a musician, do not hesitate to bring your instrument. ;-)
Concerning the food , each of the customers will do their shopping for all the meals of the cruise that they will have to prepare (1 evening meal for the whole crew and their morning and midday meals) before departure from the port of Saint Mandrier. It is possible to do your shopping directly on the port (food shops, supermarket, etc.). There is no problem storing food on board for the duration of the cruise: plenty of storage space, refrigerator.
KITCHEN AND MEALS: customers themselves take care of the kitchen. Everyone makes an evening meal for the whole crew, I take care of the remaining dinners. For lunch and breakfast, everyone takes care of their own meal.
