This experience, in a nutshell

SATURDAY
Boarding in the afternoon in the Portorosa marina, Furnari (Messina). After filling the galley and taking a seat in the cabin we are ready to set sail, we leave Sicily behind and with a fresh cross wind we sail towards Lipari along the island of Vulcano which welcomes us from its always active crater. We spend the night in Lipari in the port of Pignataro.

SUNDAY
Lipari - Pumice Quarries - Evening Panarea. After the classic breakfast with mulberry granita we take an excursion to the Castle of Lipari which rises on the sea in a rich archaeological area, we are in the upper part of the city and from there we overlook the entire bay of Marina Lunga and Marina Corta and the city low. The medieval cloister of the ancient Benedictine-Norman monastery is annexed to the Spanish cathedral, here, immersed in total silence and surrounded by the shimmering sparkle of the sea, we still feel the ancient sacredness of the place. Back on board we pull up the sails and driven by the wind we head towards Panarea, along the way we stop in the northern part of Lipari for a refreshing swim in the turquoise sea under the now disused pumice quarries. We spend the night in Panarea aperitif on board and everyone ashore for dinner.

MONDAY
Wake up in Panarea - Stromboli evening
After the classic bath granita, white bone with gaseous bubbles and stop in Basiluzzo. We head towards the Sciara del Fuoco, the side of the island of Stromboli where the volcanic materials emitted in the eruptive explosions from the main crater of the volcano accumulate. The show that Stromboli offers us with the continuous eruptions is unique and thrilling. Dinner and aperitif ashore. We spend the night at anchor, between Strombolicchio and Piscità, a fraction of Stromboli.
In the afternoon we sail to Pollara on the western side of Salina, the natural set of the film Il Postino. The evening promises to be peaceful and we decide to stop at anchor in the bay of Pollara, protected by the high cliffs while in the distance the moon sets behind Filicudi. Night at anchor dinner on board.

TUESDAY
Stromboli - evening in Salina
Leaving Stromboli we head to Salina which is the greenest island of the Aeolian Islands and for those who love the mountains the extinct volcano of Monte Fossa delle Felci with its 962 meters. it is an irresistible challenge.
Baths by visiting all the beautiful bays as a language, capofaro. Evening ashore or aboard at your leisure.

WEDNESDAY
Leaving Santa Marina di Salina - we stop for a refreshing swim In Pollara on the western side of Salina, the natural set of the film Il Postino, the morning passes between dives in the sea, relaxation in the sun and walks on the island.
In the afternoon departure to Filicudi and night in Pecorini a mare famous for an aperitif at the Saloon

THURSDAY
After breakfast, bathe in the cane and in the cave of the sea ox. Capatina to Alicudi and then Vulcano for the night.

FRIDAY
Vulcano - Sicily Portorosa
Bagno a Vulcano, mulberry slush while the more daring decide to climb the volcano. Back on board we head towards Gelso, the southern part of the island, where we stop for a swim and for a last farewell to the islands. Before sunset we set sail for Sicily. Dinner in a restaurant and overnight in Portorosa.

SATURDAY
It's time to say goodbye. Disembarkation is scheduled for 09.00 but the desire to get back on the road is very strong. We exchange addresses with our travel companions and we leave with the promise to meet again soon, another trip by sea and many other islands are there waiting for us!

The itinerary may undergo changes, at the discretion of the skipper, for meteorological reasons and according to the requests of the guests.

Ottimo Cuoco. Governa i fornelli con grande maestria. Consiglio il binomio Mario&Catablu a chiunque voglia passare una settimana in barca. Grazie Mario per tutto quello che ci hai dato. A.

Fantastic, 5 Star Experience! I had a great week's sailing with Mario on Catablu. When I looked for a course on Sail Square I was conscious of finding an experienced skipper. Mario is a seasoned sail0r with over 30 years experience so whether there are stormy or calm waters you will be in safe hands. His boat Catablu is beautiful, spacious and really comfortable. He is a native of Sicily and has deep knowledge of the coastline, islands, beautiful coves and the history of people who live there - making for a fun and interesting week. Being on a boat with 6 strangers can be a challenge , so having a skipper who makes evetime feel at ease and develops a cohesive team is important. Mario is sociable, a good team leader and a great chef! Thanks Mario!

Fulvio, Ombretta e Aicha
