Leg 1

SABATO - Portorosa - Lipari

We embark in the afternoon in the marina of Portorosa, Furnari (Messina).
Filled the galley and taken our places in the cabin, we are ready to set sail: we leave Sicily behind and with a fresh crosswind we sail towards Lipari, skirting the island of Vulcano, which welcomes us from its ever-active crater. We spend the night on Lipari in the port of Pignataro.

Leg 2

SUNDAY - Lipari - Panarea

After a good breakfast of mulberry granita, we make an excursion to Lipari Castle, which stands by the sea in a rich archaeological area. We are in the upper part of the town and from there we overlook the entire bay of Marina Lunga and Marina Corta as well as the lower town.
We then head for Panarea, stopping at Lipari for a refreshing swim under the pumice quarries. Aperitif on board and then dinner ashore.

Leg 3

MONDAY - Panarea - Stromboli

After enjoying a classic granita, swim in the gaseous bubbles of Lisca Bianca and stop at Basiluzzo. We head for the Sciara del Fuoco, the side of the island of Stromboli where the volcanic materials emitted in the eruptive explosions from the volcano's main crater accumulate.
The spectacle that Stromboli offers us with its continuous eruptions is unique and thrilling. Dinner and aperitif ashore.

Leg 4

TUESDAY - Stromboli - Salina

Leaving Stromboli we head for Salina, the greenest island of the Aeolian Islands and, for those who love mountains, the extinct volcano of Monte Fossa delle Felci with its 962 metres is an irresistible challenge.
We stop and swim while visiting all the most beautiful bays, such as Lingua and Capofaro. Evening ashore or on board, at your leisure.

Leg 5

WEDNESDAY - Salina - Filicudi

Leaving Santa marina di Salina, we stop for a refreshing swim at Pollara, on the western side of Salina, the natural set of the film 'Il postino' (The Postman). The morning passes between dips in the sea, relaxation in the sun and walks around the island. In the afternoon, we depart for Filicudi and spend the night at Pecorini a mare, famous for its aperitifs at the Saloon.

Leg 6

THURSDAY - Filicudi - Vulcano

After breakfast, swim at Canna and the Bue Marino cave.

Trip to Alicudi and then to Vulcano for the night.

Leg 7

FRIDAY - Vulcano - Portorosa

Swimming at Vulcano, mulberry granita while the more daring decide to climb the volcano. Back on board, we head for Gelso, the southern part of the island, where we stop for a swim and a final farewell to the islands. Before sunset we set sail again towards Sicily. Dinner in a trattoria and overnight stay in Portorosa.

Leg 8

SATURDAY - Portorosa

It is time for farewells. Disembarkation is scheduled for 9AM but the desire to get back on the road is very strong. We exchange addresses with our travelling companions and leave with the promise to meet again soon, another sea voyage and many other islands are waiting for us! NOTE: The itinerary may be subject to change, at the skipper's discretion, for weather reasons and depending on the guests' requests.

Ottimo Cuoco. Governa i fornelli con grande maestria. Consiglio il binomio Mario&Catablu a chiunque voglia passare una settimana in barca. Grazie Mario per tutto quello che ci hai dato. A.

Fantastic, 5 Star Experience! I had a great week's sailing with Mario on Catablu. When I looked for a course on Sail Square I was conscious of finding an experienced skipper. Mario is a seasoned sail0r with over 30 years experience so whether there are stormy or calm waters you will be in safe hands. His boat Catablu is beautiful, spacious and really comfortable. He is a native of Sicily and has deep knowledge of the coastline, islands, beautiful coves and the history of people who live there - making for a fun and interesting week. Being on a boat with 6 strangers can be a challenge , so having a skipper who makes evetime feel at ease and develops a cohesive team is important. Mario is sociable, a good team leader and a great chef! Thanks Mario!

Fulvio, Ombretta e Aicha
