This is a holiday dedicated to
- Sailing School
Brief description of the holiday
The green country, as described by the first Viking sailors who landed there in the year 1000, is mainly on its South West coast. The east coast presents an important freezing, due to the descent of a polar current which entails huge icebergs and pack in breakup towards the South. It is one of the most isolated places on our planet. It can only be accessed a few weeks a year. From Kulusuk, our goal will be discovery of the glacial landscapes located between the fjord of Sermilik: Glacier Rasmussen and Steenstrup, and wild coast to Kangerdlussuaq Fjord. Observation of marine and terrestrial life, landings on land and trekking, kayaking, swimming and snorkeling for the bravest will punctuate our expedition. Maybe we'll get a chance to see a polar bear? Then crossing back to Iceland, Isafjordur or Reykjavik (weather permitting) Duration: two weeks - about 800 Nm.
