Experience a parenthesis of Yoga, nature, sharing, sea and sun, during a cruise aboard a magnificent sailboat.
The raw beauty of the Mediterranean, an exceptional climate in summer, moderate winds allowing a very pleasant navigation, a warm sea, white sandy beaches, make this part of the French Riviera an exceptional place. Sailing there is a permanent pleasure and the best way to visit wild places away from mass tourism.
Departing from the port of Saint Mandrier, we will sail between Cap Sicié and Cap Benat, visiting, for a night spent at anchor (chosen according to the weather) several of the magnificent bays of the island of Porquerolles, the Cap de Brégançon, the peninsula of Giens and the harbor of Toulon. We will sail every day, from anchor to anchorage, in order to make you discover the richness and diversity of this wild part of the French Riviera. We will only frequent wild anchorages and will not stay in ports.
This cruise is placed under the sign of Yoga. I invite you to live a unique Yoga experience in the heart of nature, in the calm and beauty of seascapes conducive to relaxation, concentration and meditation. This maritime and spiritual journey is aimed at those who have never practiced Yoga as well as advanced practitioners. The small size of the group as well as my teaching methods will allow me to adapt the courses and practices according to the individual needs of each one.
I have been practicing Yoga for 30 years. I have been teaching it for many years (Yoga Alliance certified), during my travels around the world, emphasizing its philosophical and spiritual aspects. I have lived in India for more than five years, deepening my practice with many teachers.
My teaching is rooted in the traditional foundations of Yoga, while being adapted to contemporary Western practitioners. I will be delighted to share with you my knowledge, my experience and my pedagogical approach.
Each day, at least one Yoga class, of about 1h15, adapted to your level, will be offered. He will address one of the complementary aspects of Yoga:
- Philosophy and History of Yoga,
- Asana (Hatha Yoga),
- Pranayama (regulation of vital energy by the breath),
- Kundalini Yoga (awakening of Kundalini energy through postures, breathing and meditation),
- Kirtan (collective singing with a spiritual and meditative vocation),
- Meditation.
Postural Hatha Yoga will be limited to 2 or 3 classes during the cruise. Indeed, not all anchorages have places conducive to this practice. In addition, by not placing the Asana at the heart of the teaching, I will allow you to develop complementary practices that may be less familiar to you. Meditation and Pranayama exercises will be daily.
The comfort of the sailboat will also allow you to develop your personal practice, on deck or inside. Yoga mats are provided on board for Asanas, but bring your own if you prefer. Following the path of Jacques Mayol, we will also be able to use our Pranayama practice as part of snorkeling if you wish (bring your mask).
Although the order of the sessions may vary, depending on the place and your desires, here is an indicative program of yogic practices :
- Day 1: Philosophy and History of Yoga – Meditation
- Day 2: Philosophy and History of Yoga – Pranayama – Meditation
- Day 3: Hatha Yoga - Pranayama - Meditation - Kirtans
- Day 4: Philosophy of Yoga - Kundalini Yoga - Pranayama - Meditation
- Day 5: Hatha Yoga - Pranayama - Meditation
- Day 6: Kundalini Yoga - Pranayama - Meditation
- Day 7: Pranayama - Meditation
If it suits you, we will favor vegetarian food during the cruise. If possible, take your yoga mats and snorkeling masks and snorkels.
I only welcome a maximum of 4 people on board in order to offer you as much comfort as possible and as much availability for teaching. To accommodate you, we have two large double cabins and a small single cabin on board. We will share the common areas. The teak deck, very comfortable, will allow you to indulge, in addition to your Yoga practices, contemplative idleness, reading and sunbathing.
During your cruise, if you wish, I will teach you the basics of the art of sailing and take part in the maneuvers. A 2-seater kayak , a paddle and a large dinghy will be at your disposal to go for a walk along the coast and to go ashore.
A typical day of cruising will take place as follows:
- We will practice, when we wake up, on the bridge, Pranayama and meditation in order to start our day well.
- We will leave the anchorage where we spent the night around 10-11 am and sail, under sail (between 1 and 5 hours depending on our destination and the weather), to our next anchorage.
- Arriving at our new anchorage where we will spend the late afternoon and night, you can go ashore, enjoy the sea, relax on board or develop your personal practice.
- At the end of the afternoon, we will organize a Yoga session, on land or on board.
- In the evening, we will share a dinner enjoying the landscape and the beautiful starry skies.
- Formal Yoga classes will take place either in the morning before our departure or in the late afternoon at our new anchorage.
