This experience, in a nutshell

During this holiday we will sail between the wonderful islands of Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo, exploring stretches of coast that offer spectacular views and perfect seabeds for snorkeling. We will also have time to discover San Vito Lo Capo and the beautiful bays of the Zingaro Reserve, where the crystal clear sea and wild nature will be the backdrop to our days.

The first night we will spend in the port of Balestrate. During the week we will alternate nights in the roadstead and nights in the ports, in the various places included in the itinerary, lulled for example in the calm waters of Levanzo or Favignana. On board you can relax, dive, paddle with the SUP, explore with mask and fins, or simply enjoy the sun and silence. Each activity will always be proposed with attention to safety and your comfort.

When we are moored in the ports, there will be time to visit the villages, dine on land, take a walk under the stars or let yourself be tempted by the island's nightlife.

Among the various activities that can be chosen together, according to the navigation times and the final itinerary chosen according to the weather, in Favignana you can rent a bike to explore the interior, visit the Florio tuna fishery or the suggestive Garden of the Impossible. In Marettimo, trekking lovers can try their hand at panoramic paths and, for those who wish, it will be possible to take a boat tour of the famous caves. Finally, Levanzo, on the other hand, with its small port and relaxed atmosphere, will give you an authentic and evocative stop.

I remind you that the weather situation can affect the choices of itinerary at the expense of the skipper during the week: we will always do our best to make you spend in contact with nature in the places in relaxation and safety, proposing when possible trekking itineraries, visits to museums, and visits to everything that these places offer us to discover the area together.

If you are curious to learn something about sailing, I will be happy to involve you in maneuvering and steering the boat. It will be a dynamic holiday, but without haste, between sea, nature and life on board.

It's the third time I've traveled with sailsquare and unfortunately it will also be the last for the following reasons: - elderly skipper (71 years old instead of the 59 shown on the site) with psychomotor slowdown (I am a doctor), who struggled to manage the boat with only the engine, let alone sailing. I remember an episode in which the boat hit a rock and neither the skipper nor the helper (wife) went to check from the outside of the boat if there were any problems and another in which the boat stopped in the middle of the sea due to engine failure that the skipper wanted to manage by towing the sailboat with the dinghy?! We exasperated guests asked for help from a boat that approached asking to call the coast guard, who brought us back to the mainland saving us from 2 clearly good people able to handle the situation. - Unfortunately even Sailsquare instead of helping us find a solution, eg providing us with another boat for the remaining days, offering us a partial refund but above all stopping skipper and helper at least until the situation is clarified, dismissed us by saying that they only act as a conduit for the financial transaction between us and the skipper: SHAME!!

I lost David's place for the cruise. I needed rest. Actual sailing was restricted. When sailing, the boat often proceeded straight ahead without following the wind properly. I called my best friend who is a skipper several times with video calls and was speechless, telling me to leave the boat immediately. In the end, even my friends understood that we could not continue sailing after the boat stopped in the middle of the sea and Mario and Carmen were unable to manage the situation. Mario and Carmen struggle to coordinate with each other in maneuvers, also thanks to Mario's hearing problem, and give each other conflicting instructions. We suggested that they use walkie-talkies that they had purchased specially, but they never used them. The stick used to hook the buoys was lost at sea twice. Carmen was kind to me and tried to speak to me in French. However, Mario and Carmen quarreled with each other over the maneuvers and then the atmosphere was heavy. Mario snores very loudly during the night, significantly disturbing my rest for the duration of the cruise. For me this was a real problem as I needed to sleep and I spent sleepless nights. We found a total lack of flexibility: the one and only request for modification, minimal (stopping in the next bay), was met with disappointment (we were clearly told that they do not operate a "taxi"). On this occasion, we wanted to join friends who were with their catamaran near the beach and had a free buoy next to them. Mario and Carmen chose to moor on the buoy furthest from the beach despite the sea being calm. We were forced to swim about 300 meters without tender assistance, even on the way back late in the evening. Products have been added in particular for the hygiene/cleanliness of Carmen and Mario (about 35-40 €) and food (about 25-30 €) without submitting the list to us before sending. This is unacceptable to me. The worst, however, was the refusal to take us to Levanzo despite the optimal sea conditions, preventing us from visiting one of the three islands of the Egadi then that there are only 3 and we had 7 days of navigation. For me holiday ratées. Florence

We are sorry to leave this comment, but we feel it is right to share our experience. On the site the profile is presented as "Carmen & Mario", with Carmen listed as 58 years old (but we believe she has more) and skipper. in reality the skipper is Mario who is 70 years old, overweight, motor and hearing problems. The boat is beautiful and Carmen and Mario can be very nice and friendly. Everything changes when they have to make maneuvers: insults between them and bad mood that involves the whole group. The slightest change of program creates tensions. Even before departure we had problems: we had a change in our flight with arrival at the port at 20h. This has already been a mini drama. We were written in harsh and unfriendly tones that they were making a "concession" to wait for us, despite the fact that we had booked the whole boat and the night was still scheduled in port. Both no longer have the energy and readiness necessary to manage weeks in a row with guests. We must point out a worrying lack of safety on board: on Monday the boat hit a rock without any hull check being carried out for two days and an engine failure at sea on Wednesday afternoon was handled disastrously, with Mario and Carmen refusing to contact the coast guard, who intervened anyway on our initiative (with Carmen verbally attacking us for doing so) The guard judged "crazy" the manoeuvre attempted by the skipper to pull the sailboat for many kilometres. we had to organize the end of the stay independently, with more than € 1500 at our expense as Mario and Carmen refused to take us to Levanzo once the boat was repaired stating that the weather conditions did not allow us to continue the tour then that the maritime guard had indicated that the conditions allowed navigation

Carmen and Mario are two special people! Attentive to everyone's needs and super available to please guests without losing sight of safety at sea. Carmen is a sweet, welcoming woman and she really does her best to keep the boat very clean; We will never forget the great meals he prepared for us. Mario is a gentleman and a skipper also available to change itineraries; He did it so that we wouldn't lose a minute of the sea and for this we thank him so much. We spent unforgettable days and evenings. It couldn't have gone better than this. Thank you and a big hug. Federica, Cristiana and Emma
