To reach Palermo by car from Sicily you mainly use the A19 motorway (Palermo-Catania), the A20 (Palermo-Messina) and the A29 (Palermo-Trapani/Palermo-airport). Arriving from the mainland, the common route includes the A1 to Villa San Giovanni and boarding the ferry to Messina; after disembarking, continue on the A20 towards Palermo; times vary according to the route and traffic (e.g. Messina-Palermo about 2.5-3 hours, Catania-Palermo via A19 about 2.5-3 hours). There are also maritime connections that allow you to transport vehicles directly to the port of Palermo from some ports on the continent or in Sardinia; In this case, the car can be used directly in the city after disembarking.

🚆 By train
Reference station: Palermo Centrale; the railway junction is served by Trenitalia regional and national connections, including Intercity and night services, as well as regional trains for the Sicilian network; the approximate times are Palermo-Messina about 2.5-3 hours, Palermo-Catania about 2.5-3 hours, and night connections to Rome with journeys around 11-13 hours depending on the type of train. From the station it is possible to continue towards the port or airport with road services or taxis for the last stretch.

✈️ By plane
Palermo Falcone-Borsellino Airport (PMO) in Punta Raisi, about 35 km from the city center along the A29; direct domestic flights from Rome, Milan and other Italian cities and European connections through scheduled carriers; for intercontinental connections it is possible to transit through the hubs of Rome and Milan. From the terminal to the center it can be reached by road shuttle service (duration about 50 minutes), taxi or car rental and by road routes on the A29; Times may vary depending on traffic and service schedules.

The port of Palermo hosts scheduled passenger services and vehicles with maritime connections to various ports in the Tyrrhenian and Mediterranean Seas; night ferries are available to ports on the peninsula and Sardinia and quick connections to smaller islands; durations vary from short crossings to nearby islands to overnight transfers to the mainland; embarkations take place at the Commercial Port of Palermo with scheduled operators and schedules seasonally.

If all cabins are occupied by guests, the skipper - and any crew members, if applicable - sleep in the dinette.

Yes, it is possible to reserve a single cabin, but in this case the price is equal to that of two shares.

The galley is paid for by the guests with a common fund, but will be purchased and placed on board before boarding by the crew

The crew is responsible for preparing meals consumed on board.

Travelling light is recommended: especially in summer, when you will almost exclusively be wearing swimwear, T-shirts, and shorts on the boat during the day. A sweatshirt and long pants for the evening may be sufficient in the height of summer, while something warmer is preferable in the cooler months, as well as a waterproof windbreaker in case of bad weather or when sailing. Sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun, flip-flops/sandals for going ashore; if you want to wear shoes on board - especially useful when sailing - they must have white soles and be used only on the boat. It may also be useful to bring a small waterproof container for your wallet/cell phone to use when going ashore. For bed linen and towels, please refer to the “What's included” section.

A soft bag is required for transporting luggage, so that it can be easily stowed away. Hard suitcases and trolleys should be avoided, as they are difficult, if not impossible, to stow. A small backpack or beach bag may be useful for shore excursions.

The proposed itinerary is designed to optimize travel and allow you to fully enjoy the beauty that the destination has to offer. Therefore, it cannot normally be changed.

The boat is equipped with both 12V sockets (with USB and/or cigarette lighter connectors) and 220V sockets, which can normally be used at any time.

Usually, we moor in a bay at night, with the possibility of going ashore using the dinghy. However, we will stop in port, as planned in the itinerary, to refill our water and/or provisions, as well as to enjoy a pleasant evening ashore.
