This experience, in a nutshell

The fundamental importance in the geological and naturalistic field is the reason why UNESCO, in 2000, included the Aeolian Islands in the "World Heritage List". For 200 years, in fact, the seven sisters of the archipelago (Lipari, Panarea, Vulcano, Stromboli, Salina, Alicudi, Filicudi) have represented an extraordinary field of research for geologists from all over the world.

Without forgetting that the ash, lava and all the material erupted over the millennia has contributed decisively to the preservation of many finds from ancient times, transforming the Aeolian Islands into a large open-air archaeological park.

As in the best families, the seven sister islands that make up the Aeolian archipelago also have different characters, attitudes and ambitions. What they have in common, however , is a shining sea, volcanic origin, and a rugged hinterland scented with Mediterranean scrub.

Between fishing villages and pebble beaches, the itinerary that leads from Lipari to Vulcano with an obligatory passage to Salina, Panarea up to Stromboli is based on picturesque corners in which to dive but also culture, archaeology, good food and views with sunsets that leave you breathless.

Leg 2

Vulcano and Salina

We begin our sailing with a route to the Island of Vulcano for the first Aeolian swim of the holiday in the wonderful waters of the Grotta del Cavallo and Piscine di Venere. In the afternoon we will continue to the Island of Salina, where we will anchor for the night in the roadstead of Santa Marina Salina. We will evaluate whether to have dinner on the boat or go ashore in the characteristic village of Lingua for a delicious taste of pane cunzato, a typical dish of the Aeolian tradition, made with a large loaf lightly toasted and filled with typical products of the Salina area (capers, cucunci, eggplant, dried tomatoes).

Vulcano and Salina

Leg 3

Ovest Salt Mine e Panarea

We will take us to the Bay of Pollara, on the west side of the island of Salina. The hamlet of Pollara stands on the remains of an ancient volcanic crater that has partially collapsed. In addition to its natural beauty and landscape, Pollara is one of the most famous places in the Aeolian Islands for the film Il Postino. In this place of enchanting natural beauty and crystal clear sea, we will dive in for a beautiful swim and snorkeling  along the coast. In the afternoon we will sail to the island of Panarea. Once we arrive, we will evaluate whether to spend the night moored in the roadstead or in a buoy field. Both solutions will allow us to go ashore to appreciate the beautiful village made of white houses and to enjoy a magical atmosphere with breathtaking views and good music.

Ovest Salt Mine e Panarea

Leg 4

Salina - Stromboli

We will take a beautiful swim in the waters between the Bottaro rock and Lisca Bianca where it will be possible to snorkel and admire the sulphurous emissions. In the afternoon we set course on the island of Stromboli, one of the few volcanoes on earth in almost continuous activity. We will spend the night moored in a buoy field, from where it will be possible to disembark and return to the boat comfortably. You can't miss a beautiful walk at sunset to reach the Observatory of the Island from where it will be possible to appreciate the gushing and explosions of lava in a naturalistic and super evocative environment. For those interested, it will be possible to join a group trek, accompanied by a tour guide, to reach a higher observation point.

Salina - Stromboli

Leg 5

Lipari (Italy)

Before reaching Lipari we will make an intermediate stop in Panarea to visit the beautiful Cala Junco, where we will have lunch in absolute relaxation surrounded by a breathtaking landscape. In the afternoon we will sail towards Lipari for a dip in the blue waters of the White Beach: located just beyond the village of Canneto, the beach owes its name to the spectacular expanse of pumice dust that makes up its suggestive beach. We will spend the night moored in one of the marinas on the seafront, a few minutes walk from the center of Lipari. We will not miss a wonderful walk through the narrow streets of the center, where there are numerous bars and souvenir shops. We will reach Marina Corta, certainly one of the most evocative points of the village of Lipari, with its beautiful square by the sea and the many restaurants where you can taste excellent local fish and the highly appreciated Aeolian cuisine.

Lipari (Italy)

Leg 6

Lipari - Vulcano

Breakfast reinforced with the best of Lipari's pastry shop that offers one of the best granita of the Aeolian Islands, to be enjoyed strictly with hot brioche. After spending some time buying some souvenirs in the many bazaars of the main street, we will set sail for the Praia di Vinci beach, where we will be able to admire a wonderful panorama dominated by the stacks of Lipari. Lunch on board cooked by the Skipper with spaghetti with fish sauce !! In the evening we will go to the nearby island of Vulcano, where we will still face the characteristic black sand beach. We will go ashore with the help of the tender for a walk on the soft black sand beach during one of the most beautiful sunsets in the Aeolian Islands.

Lipari - Vulcano

Leg 7

Vulcano

For those interested, in the early hours of the morning it will be possible to organize a hike to the crater of the volcano, which can be reached through a not very demanding path of about 30 minutes. Once you reach the summit, you will appreciate the crater up close and admire a wonderful view of the entire archipelago. In the late morning we will take us to the southern coast of the island of Vulcano to reach the Gelso beach, a small tropical corner in a volcanic island, a real daydream. Characterized by a beautiful black beach of sand mixed with gravel, it has a clear blue sea, almost transparent. After a bit of relaxation, we will continue our sailing to return to Marina di Portorosa, with arrival expected around 17:00. Greetings and last toasts of the holiday with the skipper.

Very nice experience with Antonino. He's very professional and concerned with our needs. Despite the bad weather for a few days, we were still able to cover almost all the places to visit and had a unique and interesting vacation.
