This experience, in a nutshell
Departure from Vannes, a historic city in the centre of which we will be moored.
Crossing the Gulf of Morbihan, with a possible stopover at the Ile d'Arz and the Ile aux Moines, also very typical, and very different. We can explore these quiet islands (without a car) on foot or by bike, and taste the local oyster production.
Out to sea towards the bay of Quiberon, a magnificent body of water to tack in calm conditions. Head for Houat, Hoedic, the Ponant Islands, not to be missed with their wild landscape and their tiny village. It is possible to return to La Trinité, a port of tradition and ocean racing. This is the place to admire beautiful boats of all kinds.
Exit through the Teignouse Strait in the direction of Belle-île. The stopover in Sauzon is worth two days, and gives us time to visit this superb island by bike, with its cliff landscapes, its beaches, its huge lighthouse and its bocage countryside.
Then we will reach a smaller island: Groix, also very typical and rich in a particular nautical history. From there, depending on the weather, we can push on to the Glénan archipelago, the city of Concarneau which deserves a stopover to visit its walled city.
The return trip is made with a stopover in Port Louis at the entrance to the harbour of Lorient. This picturesque harbour allows us to visit the citadel, and also the offshore racing base located at the submarine base. There's something for everyone!
Then we will take the road south towards the Gulf of Morbihan with a stopover at the Ile aux Moines to enter with my morning tide at the port of Vannes.
