Brief description of the holiday
Five days of sailing! Basic course in full immersion on a GS40Race offshore boat, for those approaching sailing for the first time or for newly licensed who want to practice basic sailing maneuvers.
Basic notions on the Theory of Sailing: Nomenclature, Winds and their direction, Vector wind forces (real wind - apparent wind speed - wind), hints on fluid dynamics applied to sailing boats.
Accommodation on board, pre-departure navigation and safety briefing. Rigging of the boat and unmooring.
Motor navigation for the exit from the port, hoisted of the sails.
Sailing: verification of the pace and navigation en route with sails adjustment exercise. Bear away and luff. The upwind gaits and the load-bearing gaits. Tests and controls of the tack and the abatement.
Sails reduction exercise. Knowledge and use of fixed and running maneuvers.
Simulation of sudden obstacle, man overboard with boat stop.
Mooring preparation: knots and lines ready with knowledge of their use. Twine a top.
Drop and correct sails folding (regatta and sail loft).
Mooring. Accommodation of the boat.
Final certificate of participation
A medical certificate is required for non-competitive sporting activities.

The course is aimed at those approaching sailing for the first time or for newly licensed who want to practice basic sailing maneuvers.
It takes place throughout the day, from 9.30 with a part of theory on land and then practice at sea. Return around 18.00. Possibility of overnight stay on board.
Here is what you might or would like to have during the course.

Payment and cancellations
This Experience undergoes Sailsquare reservation and cancellation policies.
- Book this Experience paying directly via credit card, or via wire transfer.
- If this Experience starts in more than 45 days, you can pay a deposit of around30% and then pay the balance within 30 days before the departure date. A handling fee of 25 Euros per reservation is required.
- If the Experience is not Confirmed yet, you may cancel your reservation anytime and you will be entitled to a full refund of the paid shares.
