Typical program for a 7-day course departing from La Rochelle:
(provided for information only and may be subject to change depending on weather conditions and on the decision of the skipper)
From La Rochelle you will make multiple stops on the 3 islands that make up the Pertuis d'Antioche : Ré, Oléron and Aix. On such a course the objective is to study and carry out according to the tide times and the weather the entrances to ports encountered on the way (La Flotte en Ré, St Martin de Ré, Ars en Ré, St Denis d'Oléron, Le Douhet, Boyardville, etc.) moor there and leave: this will make it easier for you to return independently next time.
Head north west to one of the ports of Vendée (Bourgenay, Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, Les Sables d'Olonne) or depending on your wishes and the weather, stopover in one of the magnificent anchorages of the magnificent island of 'Yeu.
During this coastal navigation you will take full advantage of the different aspects of life on board while training you in the techniques necessary for autonomy on a sailboat : port maneuvers, local and general weather, point on the nautical chart with and without GPS, settings , anchoring, beaconing, reefing, spinnaker maneuvers...
After tasting the local specialties, head for the bay of Quiberon and its islands and why not take a detour to the Gulf of Morbihan if the weather is favourable!
The on-board instructor adapts his instructions according to the level and objectives of each team member and will alternate practice with more theoretical sessions with topics related to the use of safety equipment, different emergency procedures, preparation before navigation ( man and ship), mechanics, navigation on paper and electronic charts, weather, routing, etc.
Whatever your level, you will progress in maneuvers and adjustments thanks to the advice of our state-qualified instructor and experienced teacher during this course on a high-performance sailboat that is the RM 11.80, because it is by going fast that the we learn quickly!
OTHER POSSIBILITY:
A magnificent sailing cruise to discover the heritage!
Departure from La Rochelle passing Fort Boyard for an ascent of the Charente by sail to the Corderie Royale de Rochefort. Departure the next morning at sunrise with descent of the river to find the water of the ocean a few hours later.
A technical and atypical navigation combining land and sea that will allow you to progress and discover or rediscover renowned places from another angle.

Meals on board:
You can arrive with a specialty from your region if you wish and make an appointment around 5 p.m. to go and refuel all together on the first evening, then top up as needed during stopovers. It is customary for the skipper's food to be taken care of by the crew, do not hesitate to choose what to cook a dish that you master or that you wish to share!
There is a gas oven, two burners, pots, pans and everything you need for a cordon bleu, what is certain is that eating and drinking well is essential for the smooth running of a boat!
We estimate the costs of the on-board cash box at around 20€/day/person for food, fuel and stopovers, which will be managed by the skipper.

For this course, we recommend that you bring the following equipment:
